Then shape the future of zooplus as a Business Development Manager and help to build the marketplace organization. This strategic role offers a high impact and visibility to senior leadership, making it one of the most exciting projects within the company. You will identify, recruit, and develop strategically relevant sellers to ensure the marketplace's success. Your work will be essential to increase the quality and quantity of product selection and will have a direct impact on the growth of zooplus.

In this role, you will contribute to setting up new marketplace processes from scratch and work with cross-functional teams for country rollouts. As a Business Development Manager, you will: 

  • Identify new sellers and assess the relevance of their product portfolio
  • Build and manage a pipeline of sellers to consistently meet/exceed ambitious objectives (#sellers and #SKU)
  • Support onboarding of high-potential sellers
  • Identify market opportunities as well as develop and execute growth strategies together with sellers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive marketplace rollout  
  • Define processes and operations for new markets
  • Drive process optimization and scalability with AI and automation tools
  • Act as a role model and actively promote and protect zooplus' values and purpose

Qualifications

  • B2 German and English 
  • BA/BS or graduate degree in a business-related discipline
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in Seller-, Vendor-, Purchasing- or Category Management, ideally in FMCG-retailing or e-commerce and/or the pet industry
  • Experience in managing business partners, ideally in a retail environment (online retail, marketplace, D2C)
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and persuasion skills, ability to build trusting relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Experience in managing, organizing, and prioritizing multiple projects with high magnitude, complexity, and impact
  • Hands-on mentality and analytical skills to identify issues and drive resolution
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and autonomously taking responsibility for achieving your targets
  • Experience with Mirakl software preferred
  • Intercultural competence
