At our Watts Nordics location we are looking for a proactive and results-driven Business Development Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with key stakeholders, and driving growth in the backflow prevention, valve, and automation market. This role requires a strong technical background, strategic sales acumen, and the ability to work independently to expand market presence and increase revenue.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategic business development plans to expand market share.
Identify and cultivate new business opportunities with industrial, municipal, and commercial customers.
Provide technical expertise and support on backflow prevention, valves, and automation solutions.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with engineers, contractors, distributors, and end-users.
Conduct product presentations, training sessions, and demonstrations for clients.
Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering and sales, to develop customized solutions.
Monitor industry trends, market developments, and competitive activities.
Generate sales forecasts, reports, and performance analyses.
Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing technical inquiries and resolving issues effectively.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience in business development or technical sales in backflow prevention, valves, or automation.
Strong understanding of industrial processes, water systems, and automation technologies.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and travel within the assigned territory.
Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with industries such as water treatment, plumbing, HVAC, oil & gas, and manufacturing.
Familiarity with backflow prevention standards, including ASSE, ANSI, and AWWA.
Proven track record of exceeding sales and business development targets.
