Why This Role Is Important To Arcadia
The Director, Business Development will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for driving business growth through strategic development initiatives, including the management and optimization of the Business Development Representative (BDR) team. This individual will lead top-down business development strategies across our addressable markets, establish and grow key relationships, and work closely with marketing, product, and sales teams to drive our growth strategy.
What Success Looks Like
In 3 months
- Build strong relationships with the BDR team, understanding individual strengths and areas for growth
- Conduct a comprehensive review of current business development strategies and processes
- Align with marketing, sales, and product teams to understand priorities and establish initial collaboration frameworks
- Present an initial assessment of the BDR team’s performance and potential improvement opportunities to the SVP, Growth
- Set clear expectations and KPIs for the BDR team
- Hire and onboard new Business Development Representatives aligned to 2025 hiring plan
In 6 months
- Implement updated business development strategies tailored to key market opportunities
- Drive measurable improvement in lead generation and conversion rates through the BDR team
- Establish consistent reporting processes for key metrics, pipeline status, and progress toward revenue targets
- Foster deeper alignment between marketing and business development efforts, ensuring a cohesive go-to-market strategy
- Initiate plans for strategic partnerships and explore opportunities with key stakeholders in the healthcare IT ecosystem
In 12 months
- Demonstrate tangible revenue growth and market share expansion driven by new business development initiatives
- Establish the BDR team as a high-performing, self-sustaining unit capable of meeting or exceeding targets
- Secure at least one strategic partnership or alliance that strengthens the company’s market position
- Deliver a comprehensive report to executive leadership highlighting successes, lessons learned, and strategic recommendations for future growth
- Position the company as a recognized leader in target markets, driven by enhanced business development strategies and execution
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and Manage BDR Team: Oversee and mentor the Business Development Representative team, ensuring they are equipped and motivated to generate high-quality leads and meet business targets. (PRIMARY)
- Strategic Growth Leadership: Develop and execute top-down business development strategies that drive growth across existing and new market segments. (PRIMARY)
- Collaboration with Marketing: Partner with the marketing team to align go-to-market strategies, campaigns, and messaging, ensuring that business development efforts are supported by integrated marketing initiatives. (PRIMARY)
- Revenue Generation: Establish and meet growth and revenue targets, focusing on new business acquisition, expanding relationships with existing customers, and driving increased market share. (PRIMARY)
- Partnership Development: Build and maintain strategic partnerships and alliances with other healthcare technology companies, service providers, and industry stakeholders to enhance our competitive position. (SECONDARY/MAYBE?)
- Market Insights and Strategy: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor strategies, and market conditions, and adjust the business development strategy to stay ahead in the evolving healthcare IT landscape. (PRIMARY)
- Collaboration with Sales and Product Teams: Work closely with sales leadership and product management to provide market feedback, influence product roadmap, and ensure the business development strategy aligns with company goals. (SECONDARY as part of leadership team)
- Executive Reporting: Report on key business development metrics, pipeline progress, and revenue growth to executive leadership, ensuring transparency and alignment with organizational goals. (PRIMARY)
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, sales, marketing or any other relevant field
- Experience: minimum of 3 years’ experience in business development within the healthcare IT market
- Ability to think strategically about market opportunities, challenges and partnerships
- Strong collaboration skills, with proven track record of working cross-functionally with marketing, sales and product teams
- Experience in establishing and growing strategic partnerships that drive business value
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
- Experience with Salesforce, SalesLoft, LinkedIn Sales Navigator and other sales productivity focused technology tools
