About the role
The Business Development Director is responsible for driving new business growth across verticals, with a focus on PO Management and Control Tower solutions. This role combines new customer acquisition with expanding opportunities within existing accounts.
As part of the leadership team, the Business Development Director contributes to shaping strategic direction and aligning solutions with evolving customer needs in supply chain and demand management. Success in this role requires a strong understanding of customer decision-making, the ability to build trust at multiple levels, and the capability to deliver complex, value-driven solutions. The position carries responsibility for achieving individual and team sales targets while supporting long-term customer partnerships.
How you will contribute
- Represent DP World in line with its values, ensuring ethical conduct, collaboration, and a strong focus on safety
- Drive business growth by securing new customers and expanding services across key verticals, particularly Retail
- Develop and execute territory plans, identify opportunities, generate leads, and maintain a robust, high-quality sales pipeline
- Build and manage relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership, understanding their business drivers and decision-making processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Product, Customer Service, and regional partners) to design and deliver tailored customer solutions
- Lead the end-to-end sales process, including opportunity qualification, solution development, and contract negotiation
- Leverage internal expertise and resources to strengthen account development and deliver long-term strategic value
- Partner with global colleagues to pursue broader, cross-regional opportunities
What you will bring
- Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Relevant experience in business development within supply chain, logistics, or Retail, with a track record of achieving sales targets
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a solution-oriented mindset
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, multicultural environment
Proficiency with CRM tools; fluency in English is required, additional languages are a plus
