Job DescriptionThis role is based in our Level 1 Howick Place office.
We are seeking a highly experienced and commercially driven Business Development Director to join the Money20/20 Europe team in London. This role is pivotal to our new business function, focusing on strategic growth through the acquisition of new clients across our core commercial offerings. You will play a key role in shaping the future of Money20/20 Europe through senior-level engagement, deal-making, and market development.
Key Accountabilities
- Drive new business by securing sponsorships and partnerships across a range of account sizes, including strategic accounts, within key fintech verticals.
- Senior Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with C-level executives and decision-makers, positioning Money20/20 as a strategic partner.
- Market Expansion: Lead initiatives to penetrate new markets and verticals, leveraging industry insights and trend analysis.
- Team Collaboration & Mentorship: Support and mentor junior BDMs, contributing to team success and knowledge sharing.
- Performance Management: Consistently exceed personal revenue targets and contribute to overall team goals, with KPIs focused solely on new business acquisition.
- Client Relationship Management: Ensure exceptional client experience through proactive communication, issue resolution, and long-term relationship building.
- Sales Excellence: Lead high-impact meetings and calls, both virtually and in person, to drive business outcomes.
- Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor activity, and customer needs across key fintech verticals to inform sales strategy and strengthen commercial positioning.
- CRM & Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely use of Salesforce and other sales tools to track activity, pipeline, and performance.
- Operational Efficiency: Deliver high-quality sales administration including reporting, planning, and internal communications.
- Experience in a senior client-facing sales role, ideally within events, media, or fintech.
- Proven track record of consistently exceeding new business targets and driving commercial growth.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and articulate value clearly.
- Highly customer-focused, with a commitment to delivering exceptional client experiences.
- Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of outcomes.
- Proficient in key business tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Salesforce.
- Demonstrated interest or experience in financial services, fintech, or technology sectors.
