The Business Development Coordinator serves as part of the Marketing & Business Development (MBD) Team, supporting a wide range of marketing and business development initiatives that elevate our brand, engage our clients, and expand our market presence. In this role, you will be working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where your creativity and entrepreneurial spirit are highly valued. This position reports to the Firm’s Senior Business Development and Client Growth Manager and will provide direct support to several Industry Teams and firmwide initiatives, including the Firm’s client feedback, lateral partner integration, and alumni programs.

Key Responsibilities

Industry Teams

  • Help plan and execute client-facing events, webinars, and sponsorships.

  • Assist with the development of industry-focused marketing collateral to reflect recent developments, firm capabilities, and strengths.

  • Conduct market, industry, and company research in support of business development initiatives. Monitor competitor activity to inform strategies.

  • Track business development activities and maintain internal reporting dashboards.

  • Provide administrative support as needed for the industry teams.

Client Feedback Program

  • Coordinate the development and administration of client feedback surveys and interviews.

  • Maintain a calendar of outreach efforts both internally and externally to ensure timely action and follow-up.

  • Compile client information for key stakeholders in advance of client interviews.

Lateral Partner Integration

  • Assist with the development and management of partner integration plans and monitor progress against integration benchmarks (e.g., internal introductions, client introductions, matter and client onboarding, BD engagement).

  • Facilitate introductions between lateral hires and key internal colleagues and practice groups.

  • Draft internal progress reports to be shared with firm leadership.

Alumni Program

  • Assist in developing and executing the firm’s alumni engagement strategy.

  • Maintain the firm’s alumni database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date contact and employment information.

  • Organize alumni-focused events such as networking receptions, CLE sessions, and virtual gatherings.

  • Draft alumni newsletters, announcements, and social media posts.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in business development, marketing, or client services, preferably within a law firm or other professional services environment.

  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize deadlines, remain composed under pressure, and manage a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

  • Exhibit accountability, adaptability, creativity, collaboration, inclusivity, and a solutions-driven mindset.

  • Travel occasionally to provide onsite support for events and conferences.

  • Maintain proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.

  • Understand marketing technologies, including marketing automation tools, social media platforms, CRM systems, and experience management tools.
