About the teamThe Retail Click & Mortar team sits at the heart of SumUp's European growth, responsible for one of our most significant acquisition channels. Our Business Development function works across multiple European markets, partnering with major retailers to drive sell-in and sell-out performance — and making sure our data tells the right story at every step.
This is a hands-on internship where you'll work directly alongside experienced Business Development Managers, contributing to real commercial decisions and supporting the rollout of a brand-new expansion programme launching in the second half of 2026. What you'll do- Analyse weekly and monthly stock and sell-out data, turning raw numbers into clear, actionable insights for the Business Development team
- Support the planning and execution of a new retailer expansion programme, helping to build and maintain the pipeline and track progress across markets
- Perform structured and ad hoc analyses on commercial KPIs to surface trends, gaps, and opportunities across retailers and markets
- Validate and maintain data accuracy across reporting tools, flagging risks or performance deviations before they escalate
- Prepare summaries and presentations for internal stakeholders, making complex data accessible and decision-ready
- Currently pursuing or recently graduated from a postgraduate degree in Business, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical mindset with a high attention to detail and comfort working across multiple data sources
- Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets and PowerPoint or Google Slides
- Intermediate proficiency in using AI tools to support research, analysis, and everyday business tasks; advanced knowledge is preferred
- Ability to communicate findings clearly in English, both in writing and in conversation, to audiences with varying levels of data literacy
- Comfortable managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment
- Strong numerical skills, combined with sound business acumen and a commercially driven mindset.
