THE POSITION

Keyera is currently seeking a Business Development Analyst to join our Gathering and Processing (G&P) Business Development team in our Calgary office. This role is pivotal in supporting commercial decision-making, optimizing revenue streams, and ensuring profitability within our midstream operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze market dynamics, assess commercial opportunities, and develop strategies to maximize value across our asset portfolio. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify basin trends near existing assets.
  • Monitor competitor activities, regulatory changes, and market trends to inform pricing strategies and commercial negotiations.
  • Analyze product flows, throughput volumes, and asset utilization to identify opportunities for revenue optimization and cost reduction.
  • Develop business cases and investment analyses to support decision-making on revenue-enhancing projects and initiatives.
  • Create scenario planning tools that enable business to assess impact of market changes and drive future business decisions.
  • Support the negotiation, drafting, and management of commercial agreements, contracts, and customer relationships.
  • Support set up of contract terms, conditions, and performance metrics to ensure compliance and mitigate commercial risks.
  • Collaborate with legal, operations, engineering and finance teams to negotiate favorable terms and resolve commercial disputes.

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will be organized, energetic, and driven to maximize our Gathering and Processing business with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in areas such as commercial analysis, business development, or financial analysis within the oil and gas industry, preferably in midstream operations.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling, market analysis, and contract evaluation.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of midstream oil and gas markets, commercial agreements, regulatory frameworks, and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, geoScout, and other relevant software tools.
