Business Development Associates work in region-specific teams to create product portfolios for clients that meet their specific needs and help them drive climate action their way.
What you’ll do:
As a Business Developer (India), you will be responsible for building, managing, and expanding your own portfolio of clients. This will involve a strong focus on business development and relationship management, making each day dynamic and varied. In this role, you will have the opportunity to drive market growth in a key emerging region for sustainability, while working closely with a global team of experts across functions. You will engage with both new and existing clients, providing a broad range of tailored solutions to address their diverse sustainability challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and drive ACT’s sales efforts in South Asia across environmental commodities.
- Drive commercial success by developing and executing market and growth strategy aligned with ACT’s Asia Pacific and global financial and impact goals.
- Identify and prioritize key commercial sectors, and design targeted market coverage and growth strategy that reflect regional dynamics and customer needs.
- Identify new clients and build long-term relationships with corporate buyers, sustainability leaders, and decision-makers
- Explore and identify new business opportunities through various channels/methods
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sustainability, R&D, and Marketing to position ACT as a thought leader in South Asia
- Monitor competition landscape, build relationships with industry players and expand business network to support partnership strategies.
- Keep updated with market changes and industry updates.
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and attributes
- A Bachelor’s / Master's graduate, preferably in Business, Economics, or Finance;
- 5–10 years of experience in B2B sales or corporate sustainability, ideally in energy, RECs, carbon, or adjacent industries
- Experience with the regional markets of South Asia (India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan)
- Existing network of buyers, sustainability professionals, and key decision makers within relevant industries is a strong plus.
- Ability to communicate complex sales progress and opportunities in crisp, actionable formats
- Collaborative team player who contributes insights and energy to group success
- Has a track record of generating leads, building pipelines, and closing deals independently
- Entrepreneurial mindset and thrives in high pressured environment;
- Affinity in sales, business development and commodities;
- Accountability, responsibility, and openness to learning fast.
