We are seeking a highly analytical and business-savvy Data Business Analyst to join our Finance Data Delivery team. The successful candidate will play a key role in bridging the gap between business needs and data-driven solutions, supporting transformation initiatives across Finance Operations and Actuarial functions. The Ideal candidate will work with the Product Owners, Business SMEs, Data Owners and the Scrum team to understand and analyse the data needs of the projects they are working on, do conceptual, logical and physical data mapping, and be the SPOC for any data queries for the engineering and testing team. Preferably, they will have experience in Insurance and/or Investment Management industry.

Primary Key Responsibilities (Top 3-5 KRA)

•    Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document business requirements related to data and reporting. 
•    Translate business needs into functional specifications and data mapping documents. 
•    Conduct structured interviews and mock requirement exercises to assess analytical thinking. 
•    Work closely with data engineers and SMEs to ensure solutions are aligned with business goals. 
•    Support the development and enhancement of data models, dashboards, and reporting tools. 
Additional Responsibilities : 

•    Facilitate workshops and walkthroughs to validate requirements and proposed solutions. 
•    Identify and resolve data quality issues and blockers in collaboration with technical teams. 
•    Maintain documentation using tools such as MS Visio and Confluence.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Educational Qualification

Knowledge & Skills (Must Have) :
•    Strong understanding of data analysis, data governance, and business process modelling. 
•    Experience in comparing, analysing data sets, patterns and schemas 
•    Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (i.e. SQL, Excel, Python) 
•    Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills 
•    Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
•    Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Scrum).
•    A scientific mindset and structured problem-solving approach
•    Attention to detail and data accuracy 
Knowledge & Skills (Additional) :
•    Basic knowledge of Pyspark, Python, Azure 
•    Proficiency in data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI).
•    Experience with Azure technologies (e.g., Logic Apps, Data Factory) is a plus

Experience: 
•    Minimum 3-6 years of experience as a Business/Data Analyst in financial services or insurance. 
•    Strong understanding of data analysis, data governance, and business process modelling.
•    Experience in comparing, analysing data sets, patterns and schemas
•    Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (i.e. SQL, Excel, Python).
•    Experience with Azure technologies (e.g., Logic Apps, Data Factory) is a plus

Educational Qualification:
•    Bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT 
•    Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification is a plus
•    IIBA CBAP Certification
