Nice to meet you! We are Damen Services.

Damen Services is a team of creative, entrepreneurial, and motivated people who support each other and enjoy coming to work each day. We interact directly with Damen customers around the world, helping us find solutions to challenging situations. Our team goes the distance for each other and for our customers, and we all take pride in our ability to put groups of skilled, can-do’ team members together to find and implement solutions.

The role

As a Business Controller within the Damen Services division, you will build on your existing foundation and further deepen your understanding of the organization. During your first year, your primary focus will be on data analysis, gaining in-depth understanding of our financial structure, and getting to know the business, its processes, and stakeholders across the global Service organization.

Following this initial phase, you will act as a key business partner to our regional management teams across the globe. You work closely with colleagues in Business Control - both at our headquarters in the Netherlands and within our international Service Hubs – as well as expertise centers such as Group Control and Tax. You consolidate financial and strategic input from all Service entities into a coherent divisional business plan and ensure alignment with Damen Group standards. In this role, you translate business insights into clear, data-driven recommendations that support effective performance management in a dynamic and highly international environment.

Reporting to the Lead Business Control of Damen Services, you play a key role in steering the business performance of the division and the regional organizations. You deliver the divisional reporting, lead the forecasting processes, and deliver value‑adding analyses that drive sound decision‑making. As the primary financial sparring partner for regional management, you challenge assumptions, identify risks and opportunities early, and contribute to shaping business reviews and commercial strategies.

Key Accountabilities

  • Monitor and optimize business performance for assigned regions by analyzing revenue, margins, costs, and key performance drivers;

  • Provide regional management teams with clear financial insights and actionable recommendations to support decision‑making;

  • Contribute to the design, delivery and continuous improvement of KPI reporting and management information for stakeholders;

  • Play a key role in budgeting and forecasting by applying business insights, scenario analysis and data‑driven assumptions;

  • Monitor cash positions, identify improvement opportunities, and drive cash-enhancing actions.

  • Support the Financial Control team in implementing financial policies and procedures across international entities to ensure compliance with (inter)national laws and regulations.

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor / Master's degree in business economics, Accounting or Finance;

  • At least  5 years of relevant experience in FP&A or Business Control;

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn data into clear insights;

  • Effective communicator who can translate strategic goals into practical actions;

  • Collaborative and people-oriented working style that fits a hands-on customer orientated organization;

  • Team player who thrives in a dynamic, international environment;

  • Willingness to travel several times per year;

  • Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English;

  • Experience with ERP and BI tools (e.g. Power BI) is a strong plus.

What we offer

At Damen, we believe that supporting and developing talented people is essential to our success. We aim to match the right person with the right role and continuously invest in your growth.

The salary indication for this position ranges between €6500 and €8000 gross per month (based on a full-time contract), excluding holiday allowance. The exact salary will depend on your knowledge and experience. This position falls under the Metalektro labour agreement.

In addition, we offer 27 vacation days and 13 ADV days per year (full-time), holiday allowance, travel expense (23 cents/km), a solid pension scheme, flexibility to work from home and plenty of opportunities for training, development and career progression.
