General information

The Benelux Robotics Finance Controller assumes full responsibility for financial oversight and strategic financial management across for the Robotics Division in Benelux. Acting as a key business partner to operational and functional leaders, this role ensures robust financial control, drives performance, and enhances financial decision-making at a regional level.

This role will report to the Global Finance Manager of Business Line Industries – Robotics

Required location: Belgium

Key responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Business Partnering:

• Act as a strategic business partner to regional leadership, ensuring financial performance optimization.

• Coordinate local finance teams to drive efficiency, cost management, and value creation.

• Oversee financial planning, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, ensuring accuracy and transparency.

• Lead the Business Performance Management process, driving demand order budgeting and forecasting.

• Define and implement financial controls, risk mitigation strategies, and compliance frameworks.

Project Controlling & Operational Finance Oversight:

• Ensure full cost reviews, contract reviews, and forecast accuracy to support strategic decision-making.

• Partner with project managers to ensure financial alignment with operational objectives and project execution plans.

• Support project financials, including revenue recognition, margin optimization, and risk management.

• Conduct financial analysis on project performance, identifying key areas for improvement and cost control.

• Lead monthly business reviews, providing forward-looking financial insights and risk assessments.

Compliance & Governance:

• Ensure adherence to financial regulations, internal policies, and corporate governance frameworks.

• Promote ethical financial practices and ensure compliance with company values, including the ABB Code of Conduct.

• Implement and monitor financial and non-financial internal controls to ensure robust governance.

Your background

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (CPA, ACA, CMA, or equivalent qualification preferred).

• 12+ years of experience in financial controlling, business finance, or regional finance management in a multinational or B2B industrial setting.

• Strong expertise in financial planning, forecasting, business performance management, and project controlling.

• Experience leading finance functions across multiple countries, with knowledge of Nordic financial regulations.

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of influencing at all levels.

• Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred), financial analytics tools, and Excel.

• Proactive problem-solving mindset with a focus on efficiency and continuous improvement.
