ING Wholesale Banking Finance is looking for an ambitious, data driven Finance Advice Expert who will act as a financial business partner providing finance advice to the senior management of ING Wholesale Banking (WB).

Your new role

We are looking for a finance business partner to one or more of the Wholesale Banking MT members and their organizations. You will be responsible for providing management information, analysis and business advice on cost and FTE, support them to meet the Financial KPI’s and to optimize their cost structure. The primary internal stakeholders are the functional heads (TECH, COO, CFO, HR, Change & Transformation, etc.).  Together you prepare their Dynamic Plan and Rolling Forecast and analyse their realisation against target.

The team

As member of the Finance Business Advise (FBA) Business Support team, you are part of the Wholesale Banking Finance Organization in Amsterdam. You will operate in a dynamic global environment with many internal stakeholders. You are part of a team of approximately 10 professional finance advice experts who will coach and challenge you to take the next step to become a business partner that adds value to the business.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Monthly reporting: you provide input for the monthly closing process, analyse the performance and the create and present the monthly report on the results for your domain.
  • Rolling Forecast: you will organize and facilitate the (rolling) forecasting process by gathering all required data and analyses in order to come to a reliable rolling (multiyear) forecast.
  • Business Cases: you will contribute to developing business cases, quantifying current costs, project investments and ROI. During and after implementation you will present their financial results.
  • Financial Modelling: you will gather input and build financial cost models to support strategic costing for intra/intercompany charging of WB Tech services.

  • Current residency in the Netherlands;
  • Master’s degree in finance (e.g. Economics, Business Administrating, Business Economics);
  • 5+ years experience in Management Accounting / Business Advice;
  • Data fluency: you understand, analyse and effectively communicate with data. You combine data sources, analyse them and create actionable information;
  • You have excellent skills in MSOffice (Excel, PowerPoint, PowerQuery, PowerBI, Thinkcell, etc) and preferred knowledge  with Oracle Hyperion Planning, Cost Perform, Smartview.

You have a strong delivery focus. You take it on and make it happen. At the same time, you help others to be successful and you’re always a step ahead. You have the following competencies:

  • Communication: you present and convey key messages in a way that is fully tailored to the target audience
  • Persuasiveness: you persuade others to your arguments and way of thinking. Seeing the bigger picture of an issue, garnering support and gradually influencing others
  • Problem solving: you early detect and identify problems, conduct sound and complex analyses and help in finding effective solutions (analytical)
  • Customer focus: you clearly ascertain what your customer needs and produce value-added advice and reports. Not only deal with a clear-cut customer request but are also able to anticipate future demands through continuous dialogue with your customers.
  • Teamwork: you create opportunities by information sharing and encouraging others to achieve our goals
  • Initiative: you take initiative to proactively contribute to effective decision-making in the business and take action

  • A salary indication tailored to your qualities and experience in GJA16 (FS10), Finance Advice Expert III. Depending on your background and expertise, placement in a higher or lower scale may be considered.
  • A 12-month contract with view to extend
  • 36 or 40 hour workweek
