About the role
We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Business Consultant to identify and cultivate new business opportunities within a designated territory. You will own the full sales cycle — from aggressive prospecting and negotiation through closing, handoff and implementation — while consistently meeting or exceeding monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.
What you’ll do
• Proactively generate new business through networking, channel partners, and self-generated leads.
• Execute targeted prospecting strategies to engage key decision-makers and build a healthy sales pipeline.
• Manage the full sales cycle: discovery, proposal, negotiation of pricing and scope, contract finalization, and post-sale implementation.
• Conduct in-depth needs analysis and design tailored HR/HCM solutions to meet client objectives.
• Maintain accurate pipeline and sales forecasts in CRM (Salesforce) and meet reporting deadlines.
• Prepare concise executive summaries and deliver client presentations.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with implementation, service delivery, and other internal teams to ensure a smooth client experience.
• Travel domestically to client sites, team meetings, conferences, and events as required.
What we’re looking for
• Proactive, highly motivated sales professional with a strong focus on new business development and revenue growth.
• Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and closing complex deals.
• Exceptional negotiation, closing and stakeholder-influence skills.
• Experience using CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) to manage pipeline and forecast activities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable presenting to executive audiences.
• Ability to analyze data, define problems, and offer strategic guidance using insights.
• Excellent time management and organization to balance multiple client opportunities.
• Valid, non-restrictive driver’s license and willingness to travel frequently.
Education & experience
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional relevant training or certifications a plus.
• At least 2 years of sales experience preferred.
• Previous experience with Salesforce or similar CRM preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Benefits
• Medical, dental and vision coverage
• 401(k) with company match
• PTO, holidays, parental and sick leave per applicable state law
• Life insurance, short- and long-term disability, EAP, FSA/HSA options and other voluntary benefits
Working environment & travel
• Primarily office-based with frequent domestic travel to client sites, team meetings, customer events and industry conferences.
