Job Description

Work directly with the Managing Partner. Learn how to build and operate a consulting firm from the inside.

LEAP Consulting Group is a growing technology and management consulting firm based in Northern New Jersey. We help organizations solve complex business and technology challenges, and we believe the best way to develop future leaders is through broad exposure, meaningful responsibility, and close mentorship.

As a Business Associate, you’ll work side-by-side with the Managing Partner and become involved in nearly every aspect of the business—from operations and recruiting to client delivery, sales, AI, finance, conferences, and special projects.

No two weeks are the same. One day you might be researching an emerging AI platform, preparing for an executive meeting, or helping develop a client proposal. Another day you could be coordinating a recruiting initiative, supporting a client engagement, traveling to an industry conference, or helping set up our booth before the exhibit hall opens.

We believe no task is beneath anyone if it helps move the business forward.

If you’re looking for a predictable routine, this probably isn’t the right role. If you have an MBA, a JD, are in the later stages of your career, or don't live a comfortable commuting distance from our offices, this role is most likely not for you.

If you’re looking to accelerate your career, gain an unusually broad business education, and work alongside experienced leaders, and live reasonably close commuting distance to Elmwood Park, NJ, we’d love to meet you.

What You’ll Do

Your responsibilities will evolve as you grow, but you’ll regularly:

  • Work directly with the Managing Partner to help organize priorities, solve problems, and move important initiatives forward.

  • Conduct research and leverage AI tools to analyze business problems and develop recommendations.

  • Prepare proposals, presentations, reports, executive communications, and other business materials.

  • Coordinate projects across multiple teams and help ensure commitments are completed.

  • Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and employee experience initiatives.

  • Assist with client engagements, executive meetings, and special projects.

  • Help improve internal business processes and identify opportunities to make the company more efficient.

  • Support operational and financial activities that help leadership make informed business decisions.

  • Assist with conferences, company events, and business development activities, including planning, travel, logistics, and on-site execution.

  • Pitch in wherever needed—from strategic initiatives to hands-on logistics—because helping the team succeed is more important than staying inside a narrow job description.

Qualifications

Who You Are

This role is designed for someone with exceptional potential—not necessarily extensive experience.

You may be a recent graduate or have a few years of professional experience. What matters most is your character, curiosity, work ethic, and ability to grow.

You’re someone who is:

  • Exceptionally organized and dependable.

  • Curious and genuinely excited to learn new things.

  • A strong writer and thoughtful communicator.

  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Resourceful, proactive, and willing to figure things out.

  • Tech-savvy and enthusiastic about learning new software and AI tools.

  • Professional, polished, and comfortable interacting with executives, clients, and colleagues.

  • Adaptable and energized by variety rather than intimidated by it.

Judgment, Tact & Trust

Working closely with leadership means you’ll occasionally be exposed to confidential business, financial, personnel, and client matters.

We’re looking for someone who earns trust through integrity, maturity, and consistency.

Success in this role requires more than keeping information confidential. It requires developing an intuitive sense for professional judgment—knowing when to speak, when to listen, when to ask questions, when to take initiative, and when to escalate an issue.

You communicate with tact, read situations well, adapt your approach to different people and circumstances, and consistently demonstrate sound judgment. You’re someone people feel comfortable trusting with important conversations, sensitive information, and meaningful responsibility.

Additional Information

Work Environment

  • Full-time, on-site position based in our Northern New Jersey office.

  • We are seeking candidates who live locally and enjoy working in a collaborative, in-person environment.

  • Approximately 25% domestic travel is expected for conferences, client meetings, recruiting events, and other company activities.

  • Some weeks require travel, event support, or additional effort around important client and company initiatives. Flexibility and a positive attitude are essential.

Why LEAP?

This isn’t a traditional entry-level position.

It’s an opportunity to work directly with the leadership of a growing consulting firm and gain exposure to strategy, operations, consulting, recruiting, finance, AI, technology, sales, client delivery, and executive decision-making—experiences that often take years to accumulate elsewhere.

We hire for character, judgment, curiosity, and potential. Technical skills can be taught. Integrity, professionalism, tact, and the ability to earn trust are far more valuable.

If you’re looking for a role that will challenge you, accelerate your growth, and give you meaningful responsibility from day one, we’d love to hear from you.
