About the RoleROLEThe Greater China Client Team in Hong Kong has an opening for a Business Associate (“BA”). This is an entry level role, and the successful candidate will be an integral member of our Hong Kong & Taiwan institutional team, supporting growth and strengthening relationships with our institutional clients.
Commanding relevant industry or internship experience, strong communications, coordination and problem-solving skills, the BA will work closely with the business team on a portfolio of institutional relationships. The BA will assist and partner in the core aspects of business development, relationship management, and client service, including:
- Prospecting – supporting business development managers with live opportunities, RFPs qualifying and coordinating, pitch material coordination, follow ups.
- Client/prospect meeting life cycle – coordination and preparation for meetings – materials, briefing notes, meeting notes, follow ups.
- Servicing - handling clients and prospects’ inquiries on a wide range of topics (product/strategy, portfolio, market/investment queries, servicing, etc.).
- Supporting the relationship managers on complex client deliverables. Providing support in bespoke client requests and non-standard processes.
- Maintaining internal client databases and tracking internal business metrics.
- Supporting external client seminars and other events (logistics, materials, facilitation and analytics, etc.).
- Build their internal network relationships and manage internal stakeholders for effective collaboration.
- Other tasks and projects assigned by the team
The successful candidate will have a passion for learning about the global capital markets. Knowledge of equity, fixed income, and/or multi-asset investment products is highly preferred. Interest in the business of investment management, a desire to work in a team-based and collaborative environment, and an analytical/ problem-solving orientation are required. The successful candidate should be organized, pay strong attention to details, have strong multi-tasking and time management skills.
- University degree holders with 1 to 2 years of relevant working experience or fresh graduates with strong academic credentials
- Degree focus in Business, Economics, Finance, with preference given to candidates who have undertaken postgraduate work or are progressing towards a CFA and/or CAIA
- Demonstrated passion for investment management and markets
- Familiarity with diverse cultures and the ability to collaborate within a diverse environment
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Bloomberg and Microsoft Office, specifically in Word, PowerPoint and Excel and the ability to leverage AI tools effectively.
- Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese); additional language skills (such as Korean) would be a distinct advantage.
- Highly motivated self-starter with a high intellectual curiosity
