About the Role

The position

We are looking for a Business Associate (“BA”) within our Institutional business channel. This is an entry level role  within the Australia and New Zealand (“ANZ”) Team and will work alongside our Institutional team in supporting growth and strengthening relationships with our institutional clients.


Responsibilities

With a developing knowledge of our business and the Institutional landscape in ANZ, coupled with strong interpersonal skills, the BA will work closely with the Business Developers (“BDs”), Relationship Managers (“RMs”) and Relationship Analysts (“RAs”) in supporting our business development activities and maintaining service quality for our existing client relationships. The BA will also work with a range of internal stakeholders to ensure we meet and exceed client expectations.


Key responsibilities for the BA alongside other team members would include, but not limited to:

  • Support the preparation and coordination of client and business development activities, including meeting materials, presentations, RFPs, RFIs and follow-up actions
  • Support implementation activities and ongoing client servicing requirements by coordinating with Business Developers, Relationship Managers and Relationship Analysts.
  • Assist with routine information requests and client servicing activities by coordinating inputs from internal stakeholders and supporting timely delivery of information
  • Capturing and maintaining client data in relevant internal CRM systems and Salesforce
  • Build effective working relationships across the firm and collaborate with internal stakeholders to support client, operational and business activities
  • Develop an understanding of client priorities, Wellington's products and market developments, and share relevant information with internal teams as appropriate
  • Support the operational, administrative and project coordination activities of the ANZ Institutional team, including meeting logistics, workflow management, documentation and tracking of key deliverables
  • Other tasks and projects assigned by the team
 Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a passion for learning about global capital markets. Interest in the business of investment management, a desire to work in a team-based and collaborative environment, and an analytical/ problem-solving orientation are required. The successful candidate should be organized and pay strong attention to details.

 

Candidates should possess a demonstrable track record of achievement through academic study, internships and early professional experience together with the capacity for differentiated thinking, strong work ethic and willingness to work with others. This position will require the ability to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment, where priorities may change frequently, and deadlines often need to be met under significant time pressure.


Other required qualifications include:


  • Recent graduate or candidate with up to one year of relevant professional experience, ideally gained through internships or roles in investment management, financial services, or a related field.
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage time effectively
  • Demonstrate excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrate interest in applying AI and digital tools to enhance productivity, efficiency, and overall client and firm outcomes.
  • Strong academic credentials, including a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline. An interest in pursuing further professional qualifications, such as a CFA would be preferable.
  • Proficiency in Bloomberg, Microsoft Office, specifically in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
