As the Business Architect for our Commercial Product Portfolio, you will sit at the critical intersection of product vision and engineering execution, shaping our long-term business and product strategy. Backed by Equifax's global investment in a cloud-native data fabric, you will translate broad commercial initiatives into cross-functionally aligned roadmaps that modernise Australia's B2B data ecosystem.
This position reports directly to the General Manager of Commercial Products, offering a unique platform to mature our architectural capability and design the scalable solutions powering secure, data-driven commerce.
What You'll DoDrive comprehensive market opportunity assessments by engaging with cross-functional internal stakeholders and external customers to articulate a customer-focused vision.
Influence product roadmaps and prioritisation to maximise customer value, ensuring planned increments are scalable, robust, and adhere to business architecture principles.
Lead the translation of complex business needs into clear, actionable architectural requirements, use cases, and solution-level execution plans.
Evaluate delivery alternatives, including build, buy, and partner options, and drive the development of robust business cases.
Identify plan dependencies and synergies, partnering across teams to align delivery timelines across the value stream.
Own the collection and documentation of functional and cross-functional Business and Technical requirements for product development.
Collaborate with delivery partners (Product, Data & Analytics, Technology) to identify, document, and resolve critical technical and commercial trade-offs.
Partner with business product managers, Legal & Compliance, and Operations to ensure all requirements align with applicable controls.
Manage the holistic performance of the product architecture, tracking KPIs related to revenue, unit cost, and margin objectives.
Analyse adoption data and customer feedback to make data-driven decisions regarding competitive product enhancements and legacy system sunsetting.
Education: Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (Commerce or Business preferred).
Product/Architecture Experience: 7–10 years of related product management or business architecture experience within a cloud-based and/or SaaS environment.
Alternative Experience Pathway: Enterprise-level Business Analysis experience will be highly considered for candidates without formal Business Architect titles.
Methodology Expertise: Proven experience leading large initiatives using pragmatic marketing frameworks, Lean product management, and Agile concepts.
Financial & Analytics Literacy: Demonstrated experience tracking and driving financial performance (P&L) for product initiatives, alongside experience managing data structures or data analytics concepts.
Possession of formal Product Management Training certificates (such as Pragmatic Marketing, Customer Value Proposition, or Negotiation with Backbone).
Active cloud certifications (AWS, GCP, Azure) combined with experience leading initiatives leveraging AI concepts.
Demonstrated capabilities or formal experience acting as a team lead within a highly matrixed global organisation.
