The Role
Kyndryl is seeking a Business Architect to support the North Carolina DMV the Modernization Program, a large-scale transformation initiative focused on modernizing critical DMV operations and services. This role will serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring business objectives, processes, and operational needs are effectively translated into technology solutions.
The Business Architect will analyze and document business capabilities, processes, information flows, stakeholder impacts, and organizational requirements while helping drive the successful implementation of the MAX solution.
Lead business process analysis, requirements gathering, and stakeholder engagement activities.
Facilitate workshops, interviews, and working sessions with business and technical teams.
Document current-state and future-state business processes, workflows, and operational models.
Translate business requirements into functional specifications and solution recommendations.
Conduct gap analyses and assess business impacts, dependencies, risks, and opportunities.
Collaborate with project teams to ensure alignment between business objectives and technical solutions.
Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test planning, execution support, defect tracking, and validation.
Assess stakeholder impacts and support organizational change initiatives.
Help define and document business architecture components, including business capabilities, information flows, organizational roles, and process frameworks.
Provide strategic recommendations regarding business transformation and modernization efforts.

Who You Are
Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience as a Business Architect, or related role supporting enterprise application implementations.
Strong experience with business process mapping, requirements elicitation, documentation, and gap analysis.
Experience facilitating stakeholder workshops and collaborating across business and IT organizations.
Knowledge of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) methodologies and coordination.
Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience translating business needs into functional and operational requirements.
Knowledge of the ADOT MVD MAX Solution.
Must be authorized to work and reside in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting DMV, transportation, government, or public-sector modernization initiatives.
Experience with writing technical user stories, understanding API technologies.
Vehicle related business knowledge.
Understanding of enterprise architecture and business architecture concepts.
Experience working on large-scale digital transformation programs.
CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or similar certification preferred.
The compensation range for the position in the U.S. is - $115,080 to $218,520based on a full-time schedule.
Your actual compensation may vary depending on your geography, job-related skills and experience. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately. The pay or salary range will not be below any applicable state, city or local minimum wage requirement.
There is a different applicable compensation range for the following work locations:
California (San Francisco Bay Area): $138,120 to $262,320
California (All Other): $126,600 to $240,480
Colorado: $115,080 to $218,520
Massachusetts: $115,080 to $240,480
New York City: $138,120 to $262,320
Washington: $126,600 to $240,480
Washington DC: $126,600 to $240,480
This position will be eligible for Kyndryl’s discretionary annual bonus program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Kyndryl’s applicable plans. You may also receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical and dental coverage, disability, retirement benefits, paid leave, and paid time off. Note: If this is a sales commission eligible role, you will be eligible to participate in a sales commission plan in lieu of the annual discretionary bonus program.
