The PositionAs a Business Architect, you will define and maintain the architectural vision and strategy for the Roche organization, ensuring alignment with business goals and supporting the adoption and implementation of Roche’s Reference Architecture. Acting as the authority and guardian of the Reference Architecture, you will create comprehensive solutions, promote best practices, and ensure architecture components and building blocks are reusable, scalable, and align with established standards. Through collaboration across the organization, you will lead efforts to integrate applications and systems effectively, drive innovation, and uphold the architectural integrity of Roche's customer-facing products. Furthermore, you will play a key role in advancing Roche’s common platform strategy by contributing to its scalability, reliability, interoperability, and alignment with the needs of digital medical products and engineering teams.
Your tasks and Responsibilities
Architectural Guardianship: Define and maintain the Architecture roadmap and Reference Architecture, ensuring all solutions are scalable, reliable, and aligned with the Roche Ecosystem strategy.
Strategy & Integration: Lead the delivery of actionable technology strategies and blueprints, guiding the integration of applications using standard building blocks and reusable components.
Platform Leadership: Drive "platform-first" approaches, identifying technical gaps and developing innovative solutions for data interoperability and event-driven frameworks.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Engineers, Product Managers, and Sales/Medical teams to support strategic outcomes and ensure consistent technological implementation across customer-facing products.
Quality & Risk Management: Analyze non-functional requirements (security, performance, scalability) and establish governance to reduce duplication and improve system robustness.
Who you are
Education & Experience: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, with at least 10+ years of experience in business/reference architecture and shared platform strategies.
Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of platform strategies, architectural governance, APIs, and shared services models. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and frameworks like TOGAF or SAFe is highly valued.
Sector Knowledge: Familiarity with healthcare standards such as FHIR and HL7, along with expertise in compliance-based design and industry regulations.
Soft Skills: Advanced consulting and communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate in cross-functional, global environments and translate business goals into technical roadmaps.
