Job Summary

As a Business Analyst within the Pension Technology – Pension Platform Operations team, you will play a key role in supporting the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of HOOPP’s pension platform. 

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze issues, support operational processes, and contribute to enhancements that improve service delivery. This role blends production support, analysis and testing / defects retest support, ensuring minimal disruption and efficient platform operations. 

What you will do

Operational Support & Incident Management 

  • Support end-to-end resolution of production incidents to minimize business impact, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

  • Perform root cause analysis and contribute to post-incident reviews, including documentation and tracking of follow-up actions.

  • Troubleshoot production issues using data analysis tools (e.g., SQL) and system knowledge. 

 

Analysis & Problem Solving 

  • Analyze business and system issues to identify root causes and recommend solutions. 

  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to clarify requirements and support issue resolution. 

  • Develop a strong understanding of system flows, dependencies, and operational processes. 

Testing & Quality Support 

  • Support testing activities including validation of fixes / Defect Retest and ensuring alignment with business requirements.

  • Contribute to test case creation and execution for operational and cyclical processes. 

Process Improvement & Automation 

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce manual effort, and enhance operational efficiency. 

  • Support implementation of automation initiatives and emerging technologies (e.g., AI-enabled or Agentic workflows) where applicable. 

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across platform operations. 

Reporting & Insights 

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance reporting and dashboards to support monitoring of platform health and operational performance. 

  • Analyze operational trends and provide insights to support decision-making. 

Governance & Documentation 

  • Maintain and update operational documentation, including runbooks, procedures, and knowledge artifacts. 

  • Ensure adherence to operational controls, processes, and governance standards. 

  • Support cyclical processing activities (e.g., statements, payroll, tax processes) and related documentation. 

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. 

  • 3+ years of experience in a Business Analyst or similar role within financial services or pension domain. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues effectively. 

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. 

  • Proficiency in SQL or data querying tools. 

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills. 

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies. 

  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps (or similar tracking tool such as Jira or ALM) 

  • Experience with Incident management tool such as ServiceNow 

  • Experience with reporting and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)

  • Exposure to testing methodologies (UAT, integration, regression testing) 

  • Exposure to defect management and re-testing processes

  • Exposure to Power Platform such as Power Apps, Power Automate  

  • Exposure to Microsoft SharePoint technologies  

  • Familiarity with automation technologies and tools, scripting, or workflow platforms 

  • Awareness of AI-enabled or Agentic automation concepts 


The expected annual base salary range for this role is: $71,000 - $109,000 CAD
The actual base salary offered to the successful candidate may vary based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, individual's expertise and level of experience applicable to the role they are being offered.  
This role is eligible to participate in discretionary incentive plan(s), subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan text.
