Position Summary
The Business Analyst acts as a liaison between business units for the development and implementation of new products, capabilities, and enhancements. This person evaluates new applications and identifies systems requirements. They will also gather and evaluate evolving business requirements, as well as recommend appropriate systems alternatives and/or enhancements to current systems. The Business Analyst prepares communications and makes presentations on system enhancements and/or alternatives.

Job Duties include (but are not limited to)

  • Requirements Gathering & Documentation
    • Elicit, analyze, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements to ensure clarity and alignment with project goals.
  • Current State Analysis & Process Improvement
    • Conduct assessments of existing processes, identify gaps, and recommend innovative solutions to improve efficiency and align with business strategies.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Act as a liaison between business units, technical teams, and other stakeholders to ensure requirements are understood and implemented correctly.
  • Support Project Lifecycle
    • Assist in planning, coordination, and execution of projects, including tracking milestones, managing risks, and ensuring deliverables meet business objectives.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting
    • Compile and analyze data to identify trends, support decision-making, and validate solutions. This often includes using tools like Excel, Power BI, and SharePoint.
  • Quality Assurance & Testing Support
    • Participate in testing activities to validate that solutions meet documented requirements and business need

Required Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of practical business analyst experience in a healthcare environment, including managing up-and-down within a matrixed organization, as well as communicating with executive-level colleagues.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time within the continental United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Business Analyst certification (e.g., CBAP [Certified Business Analysis Professional], PMI-PBA [Project Management Institute - Professional in Business Analysis], etc.) or evidence of continuous education in business analysis.
  • Previous experience working within a health plan or payer organization.
  • Familiarity with mental well-being, autism care, or EAP (Employee Assistance program)/BH (Behavioral Health) benefits.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent relationship building skills.
  • Strong communication skills (both written & verbal), with keen ability to translate complex concepts into simplified ideas.
  • Bachelor’s degree or specialized training.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$46,988.00 - $122,400.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
