What you will be doing
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Intermediate BA to join our team and be involved in the enhancement of systems for one of our clients, using cloud technology. This is a long-term programme of work that requires an agile mindset with an ability to quickly adapt to changes that occur. Not only that, but there are also opportunities to enhance the way our teams work and provide insights and forward thinking about how we adapt as an organisation in service to our clients.
As an Intermediate BA, your work will vary from day to day and can include tasks from requirements facilitation, design input and client meetings through to understanding the future path of the system and providing input through your knowledge of upcoming technologies and past learnings of how businesses operate.
While the role certainly has components associated with a BA’s bread and butter tasks, there are opportunities to expand your skillset to include functional consulting skills on the Microsoft Power Platform and D365 platform. This will involve participation in a cross functional team.
This role will involve working at a mixture of sites, including working from home, on-site with the customer and at the DXC office in Wellington. Working on the customer site is dependent on customer groups and the DXC team with which the person is working.
What will keep you busy
- Act as a liaison between client and other support groups to identify business processes, systems and product requirements
- Define and document user, functional and technical requirements
- Scope and Change Management.
- Assist in the preparation of project workbooks, estimates and schedules
- Define and document business processes
- Apply process and quality principles, policies and procedures
- Facilitate workshops to elicit and elaborate requirements
- Interpret and understand contractual deliverables including SLA’s
- Assist in the preparation of business cases, feasibility studies and other business development initiatives
- Develop and conduct training activities for peers and clients
- Data modelling
- Stand in for the Project Manager where needed
The skills you will bring
- Technical Business analysis background (>3 years) in software or related design.
- Experience of delivering systems solutions to support the needs of the business
- Experience in analysing and converting User Requirements into Functional Specifications
- Strong Verbal Communication skills required for customer liaison, interviewing, negotiating, and presentations
- Strong Written Communication skills required for articulating requirements into having one meaning for all audiences using various media i.e. presentations, specifications
- Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships with Clients at all levels.
- Have experience in the Agile methodology as well as Waterfall environments
- Understand Test driven development and Continuous integration
- Have a “Generalist” mind-set, able to wear different hats
- Experience in using modern methods and processes
- Have experience in process flow diagrams and swim lanes
- Experience in Organisational Change Management
- Understand Kanban concepts
Advantageous
- Previous work with Cloud technologies and at least a rudimentary ability to use these at a basic level.
