The Role
Geode Capital Management, LLC is seeking a highly motivated individual who is passionate about investment management and engineering. As Business Analyst, you will become an essential part of our Technology group and will have the opportunity to learn and facilitate the success of our business. This role is on the Commodities and Options squad with the responsibility of delivering modern technology solutions to grow that line of business.
This is a hybrid work environment opportunity located in Boston, Massachusetts with a weekly in-office schedule of Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays and the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.

Responsibilities:
- Act as a skilled liaison between engineering teams and business stakeholders to extract, gather, analyze, document, communicate, and validate requirements to bridge the gap between technical feasibility and business objectives
- Translate insights and analysis into consumable, engineering-focused documentation to emphasize the 'why' and 'what,' ensuring that the captured information is oriented towards delivering maximum business value
- Understand our tools and the best way to customize them to support Geode risk-focused business process workflows
- Write and groom software development tickets, change tickets, etc.
- Assist the squad by following agile development processes, best practices, and standards
- Hands-on system testing, analysis, and troubleshooting
- Support system deployments and transitions – which may require hours outside of usual business hours
- Triage & investigate system failures
- Write system documentation
Skills You Bring:
- 5-8 years of experience in financial asset management and technology, ideally working with:
- Trading
- Operations
- Compliance
- Portfolio management
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Familiarity with derivatives and associated data sets
- Understanding the investment management process and the lifecycle of a trade
- Ability to rapidly assimilate modern technology and technical concepts
- Quantitative skills to calculate investment analytics
- Experience working closely with multidisciplinary teams, including seasoned engineers, to deliver exceptional products and solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to concisely convey complex product details effortlessly to diverse audiences
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, and Git
- Fluency with SQL and ability to analyze data
- A keen eye for detail, strategically applying it where necessary to ensure precision and accuracy in all endeavors
- A critical thinking mindset, unafraid to pose questions and explore uncertain answers, driving continuous improvement and innovation
- Proactive problem-solving abilities, capable of independently identifying and resolving challenges
- Ability to work directly with end users to understand workflows and needs
- Exhibiting curiosity, sharing solutions and insights collaboratively to benefit the team
Nice to Haves:
- Ability to read and decipher code (R, Python and Java preferred)
- Ability to prototype analytics in Python
