In this role, you’ll collaborate and lead user story analysis. A typical day will include writing code, API specs, conducting code reviews, testing, and/or completing proof-of-concepts to adopt new technologies.
What You’ll Do
Perform hands-on software engineering & testing
Develop an understanding of the technical requirements needed based on industry trends, new technologies, known defects & issues
Write code, API specs, review and test code, proof concepts and automation tools
Perform ongoing refactoring of code and to drive continuous improvement in code structure and quality
Use visualization among other techniques to fast-track concepts
Coordinate with the technical product manager to prioritize items in product backlog for ongoing sprints
Mentor 2-3 engineers on software development environment, code reviewing, best practices and architectural standards
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree or greater in computer science or related technical field
3+ years of experience in software development including agile, object-oriented design and coding skills across a variety of platforms
Experienced with responsive web design (RWD)
Experienced with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, message queuing, and relational/XML databases
Innovative – you can think abstractly to tackle sophisticated or under-defined problems
Passionate about learning new technology in a fast-paced environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
