Position: Business Analyst

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to provide comprehensive business analysis services supporting complex business and technology initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders, subject matter experts, project teams, and technology resources to gather, document, analyze, and validate business requirements while ensuring alignment with organizational standards, methodologies, and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements Management

• Lead and conduct business analysis activities to assess business problems, opportunities, and requirements.
  
• Facilitate workshops to elicit, review, document, and validate business requirements.
  
• Develop and maintain business requirements documentation, business rules, user stories, use cases, and process models.
  
• Create context diagrams, systems diagrams, stakeholder maps, and process maps.
  
• Conduct business process reengineering and identify opportunities for service improvement and optimization.
  
• Develop performance measures and traceability matrices to evaluate business analysis outcomes.
  
• Support business transformation initiatives through analysis and continuous refinement of requirements.
  

Project Delivery & Solution Development

• Participate in all phases of the project lifecycle, from initial requirements through implementation and production support.
  
• Prepare business cases, cost-benefit analyses, feasibility studies, and options analyses.
  
• Ensure business requirements align with project management, architecture, and systems development methodologies.
  
• Support UX, functional, and technical design activities.
  
• Collaborate with development teams to translate business requirements into practical technology solutions.
  
• Participate in request-for-proposal (RFP) processes, including requirements evaluation and vendor assessments.
  
• Manage problem identification and resolution activities to support successful project outcomes.
  

Agile Delivery & Change Management

• Work within Agile and Scrum environments, including sprint planning and iterative delivery cycles.
  
• Break down complex business requirements into manageable deliverables.
  
• Create and manage user stories that support development activities.
  
• Conduct change impact assessments and support organizational change management initiatives.
  
• Develop communication, training, and adoption strategies to support end-user transitions.
  

Quality Assurance & Governance

• Support quality assurance activities, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  
• Validate that business requirements are accurately implemented within delivered solutions.
  
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, standards, and governance requirements.
  
• Monitor project progress and provide regular reporting to stakeholders and leadership teams.
  

Required Skills & Experience

Business Analysis and Technical Skills

• Extensive experience leading business analysis activities on medium to large-sized projects.
  
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and Scrum delivery frameworks.
  
• Experience creating user stories, use cases, business process models, and requirements documentation.
  
• Experience developing business cases, feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and ROI assessments.
  
• Experience with business architecture concepts and enterprise technology environments.
  
• Proficiency with business analysis and project management tools such as:
  
• MS Visio
  
• Figma
  
• Requirements and modeling tools
  
• Experience creating:
  
• Context diagrams
  
• Systems diagrams
  
• Stakeholder maps
  
• Process maps
  
• Use case models
  
• Experience supporting production environments and configuration management activities.
  
• Familiarity with quality assurance methodologies and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  
• Knowledge of information management principles, methodologies, and practices.
  
• Understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) standards and requirements.
  

Professional Experience

• Experience conducting business analysis reviews and recommending business and technical solutions.
  
• Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
  
• Knowledge of database concepts, systems integration, change management, risk management, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
  
• Experience identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks.
  
• Experience with stakeholder engagement, presentations, documentation, and briefing materials.
  
• Ability to align technology recommendations with enterprise standards and strategic objectives.
  
• Experience supporting user adoption initiatives through training and communication strategies.
  
• Familiarity with user-centered design principles and digital experience considerations.

Work Arrangement

• 5 days onsite.
