Job Overview:
We are looking for a highly capable and experienced Business Analyst to join the team and work closely with business and technology stakeholders to understand business needs, translate them into clear requirements, and support the delivery of effective solutions. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in Business Analysis, excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to confidently interact with stakeholders across different levels.
A key differentiator for this role is hands-on experience with Generative AI projects. The candidate should have practical exposure to Gen AI initiatives and be able to understand business problems, identify relevant AI opportunities, contribute to solution definition, and work effectively with technology/AI teams. The expectation is not just theoretical knowledge of Gen AI but demonstrated hands-on exposure to Gen AI projects and the ability to connect technology capabilities with real business problems and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand business objectives, processes, challenges, and opportunities through discussions with stakeholders.
- Conduct requirement elicitation through stakeholder interviews, workshops, discussions, observations, and analysis of existing processes and documentation.
- Analyse, validate, and document business and functional requirements clearly and comprehensively.
- Translate business requirements into structured functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and other relevant BA artefacts.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, technology teams, architects, developers, testers, and other cross-functional teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Facilitate requirement workshops and stakeholder discussions and ensure alignment across different teams.
- Identify gaps, dependencies, risks, assumptions, and potential impacts associated with business requirements and proposed solutions.
- Perform current-state and future-state analysis and identify opportunities for process improvement, simplification, and automation.
- Create and maintain process flows, business process documentation, functional specifications, use cases, user stories, and supporting documentation as required.
- Support prioritization of requirements based on business value, feasibility, dependencies, and stakeholder priorities.
- Participate in solution discussions and provide the business perspective to ensure that proposed solutions address the underlying business need.
- Work with QA/testing teams to ensure requirements are adequately covered through test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
- Support user acceptance testing, defect clarification, issue resolution, and business validation.
- Maintain effective communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle and ensure timely clarification of requirements and decisions.
Generative AI Responsibilities
- Bring practical, hands-on experience from Generative AI projects and contribute that experience to business analysis and solution discussions.
- Understand Gen AI concepts, capabilities, limitations, and common enterprise use cases sufficiently to engage in meaningful discussions with business and technology teams.
- Analyse business processes and identify opportunities where Gen AI can improve productivity, user experience, decision-making, automation, or operational efficiency.
- Gather and document business requirements for Gen AI-based solutions and translate them into clear functional requirements and use cases.
- Work with AI/technology teams to define expected solution behaviour, inputs, outputs, business rules, and acceptance criteria.
- Contribute to evaluation of Gen AI solutions from a business and user perspective, including usability, relevance, accuracy, and expected business outcomes.
- Understand and document relevant considerations around data, security, privacy, governance, human oversight, and responsible use of Gen AI.
- Demonstrate practical exposure to Gen AI initiatives rather than only theoretical or certification-based knowledge.
- Ability to quickly understand new business domains, processes, products, and technologies.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong experience in a Business Analyst role with good understanding of standard BA practices and methodologies.
- Strong requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional ability to articulate ideas clearly and confidently to both business and technical audiences.
- Strong presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to ask the right questions, challenge assumptions constructively, and bring clarity to ambiguous requirements.
- Strong analytical, logical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience creating BA artefacts such as BRDs, FRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, use cases, and functional specifications.
- Good understanding of SDLC and experience working with Agile/Scrum and/or other delivery methodologies.
- Ability to work effectively with distributed and cross-functional teams.
- Hands-on experience working on Generative AI projects or initiatives.
- Practical understanding of Gen AI use cases and their application in business environments.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working on enterprise-scale transformation, automation, digital, data, analytics, or AI initiatives.
- Exposure to AI/ML concepts beyond Generative AI.
- Experience working with Product Owners, Architects, Data Scientists, AI Engineers, or Technology Leads.
