Job Description

The Role 

The Business Analyst’s role is to support complex business projects within the PMO.  These projects require the effective engagement of all stakeholders from Technical Staff and Business Unit Managers to subject matter experts and frontline staff, and advanced data analysis to validate assumptions and qualify benefits.  The Business Analyst must be comfortable with gently challenging strongly held assumptions and develop creative solutions .

Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Under direction from the Project Manager, support complex projects that deliver clear measurable efficiencies within the business.

  • Work within Beyond Banks Change and Project Management frameworks.
  • Undertake stakeholder consultations, facilitate meeting and workshops to gather all required business information for requirements definition and modelling business operations
  • Support PMO projects by preparing project scopes, business requirements documents and contributing to requests for proposals, business cases and other project documentation as necessary
  • Create benefits models to prove the activities have made a tangible strategic improvement
  • Review and analyse specifications and business cases produced by other business units and departments for potential projects or improvement initiatives
  • Support project  implementation and hand-over to BAU
  • Assist the PMO Office and Project Managers in estimating timelines and budgets for projects
  • Provide progress/issue reports to the Project Sponsor
  • Engage Project Sponsor(s) in issue resolution as necessary
  • Develop process diagrams and design logical data models

Qualifications

About You

You’re a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of banking and finance and a solid foundation in business analysis. You can work independently with minimal supervision, communicate clearly, and build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business. Your experience includes business process improvement and practical knowledge of BABOK methodologies, and you’re confident in facilitating workshops and managing multiple priorities.

You will also bring:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Planner, and Visio for documentation
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills, and ability to work independently
  • Ability to work effectively between functional and technical teams
  • A relevant degree in business administration, IT, economics, statistics, or accounting (desirable)
  • Knowledge of business operations and change management experience (desirable)
