As a Business/Data Analyst you will join the Accounting Tribe within the Finance COO organisation. The Accounting Tribe sits right at the heart of the Banks’s complexity; we translate our rather complex business activities into financial data and solutions in line with the latest regulatory and tax requirements. You will focus on the product area Management Accounting (MA) which is a specific capability within the Tribe. The purpose of the MA Chapter is to deliver platform solutions and expertise to the finance stakeholders.
We follow an agile way of working in which per area various squads have been defined. These are high performing, self-steering teams each with their own purpose. You will be part of an international squad with frequent interaction with other departments in the ING Bank organization and as such have an opportunity to discuss and get insights into specific ING portfolios. Openness in communication and “can do” mentality are important characteristics of the team.
Job description
As a Business/Data analyst within the squad ‘CPRS Data & Reporting’ squad you will have the opportunity to contribute to the innovation and standardization of the Global Finance Reporting and Data landscape.
You will drive:
• Change and maintenance of the Value Reporter application for client profitability
• Translate business needs into solutions and technical requirements
• Create efficient data flows that fits the target architecture and data landscape
• The creation of BI solutions through prototypes in BI tools (e.g. PowerBI)
• Embedding new advanced techniques in the Finance organization through knowledge sharing;
• Innovative projects with other data/business analysts within ING.
• Performing analysis to assess the quality and meaning of data
• Preparing final analysis reports for the stakeholders to understand the data-analysis steps, enabling them to take important decisions based on various facts and trends.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a team player who is enthusiastic to join the MA Chapter in the Accounting Tribe to deliver platform solutions and expertise to the finance stakeholders. Someone who is capable of quickly understanding a complex environment and system landscape. Someone who enjoys to help teams of highly skilled professionals to find end to end solutions
• Bachelor or Master in science which has equipped you with the necessary knowledge and analytical skills
• Experience with Business Intelligence tooling / SQL;
• Experience with dimensional modelling techniques (e.g. Kimball/Star)
• Experience with Datawarehouse concepts (e.g. ETL, data sources, staging, DataMart’s etc..)
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience
• Expertise of POWER BI
• Expertise in the field of finance, management accounting and client profitability
• Creative in designing new tooling / prototyping.
• Strong Analytical skills;
• Critical mind-set with respect to what is delivered;
• Hands on mentality with regard to data;
• Strong communicator and stakeholder management skills
• Good team player, able to contribute in a multi-cultural team;
• Fluency in English both written and verbal (work language).
