Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to provide a comprehensive range of business analysis services supporting complex business and technology initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather, document, analyze, and validate business requirements while ensuring alignment with organizational methodologies and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive business analysis services for business and technology initiatives.
  
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand, document, and analyze business requirements.
  
• Prepare and advise on business analysis policies, processes, standards, and best practices.
  
• Lead and conduct business analysis to assess business problems and opportunities and document requirements to support solution design.
  
• Apply business process re-engineering concepts to drive operational improvements and cost-effective service delivery.
  
• Conduct business analysis activities throughout all project phases and levels of detail.
  
• Develop strategies, business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and feasibility studies for technology initiatives.
  
• Facilitate requirements gathering through workshops, interviews, Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions, mockups, and other techniques.
  
• Create business models, use case models, conceptual and logical data models, process models, and data flow models.
  
• Define business rules and non-functional requirements for assigned projects.
  
• Monitor project progress, resolve issues, and provide regular updates to management and stakeholders.
  
• Develop performance measures and traceability matrices to support business analysis evaluation and follow-up activities.
  
• Support stakeholder engagement activities and documentation efforts, including presentations and briefing materials.
  
• Contribute to QA, system testing, and user acceptance testing strategies, plans, and scenarios.
  
• Participate in training and communication activities supporting system implementations.
  

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills

• Demonstrated experience in business analysis supporting systems development using a rules engine or business process automation platform.

• Demonstrated experience working within Agile development environments.

Business Analysis Skills

• Demonstrated experience leading and conducting business analysis to assess business problems and opportunities.
  
• Experience conducting policy and business analysis within established frameworks and technology solutions.
  
• Strong experience applying business process transformation and re-engineering methodologies.
  
• Experience aligning business analysis activities with enterprise architecture and project governance processes.
  
• Experience developing project approval documentation, policy approval documents, regulatory change materials, and supporting project documentation.
  
• Demonstrated experience documenting requirements for business rule automation and workflow management solutions.
  
• Experience contributing to QA, system testing, and user acceptance testing initiatives.
  
• Knowledge of policy development, business analysis, and data analysis practices.
  

Healthcare Domain Experience

• Demonstrated experience working within healthcare, clinical, pharmaceutical, or claims adjudication environments.
  
• Experience supporting stakeholder engagement activities in healthcare settings.
  
• Experience with privacy and security requirements related to healthcare software development.
  

Communication & Leadership Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  
• Strong interpersonal, consulting, and negotiation skills.
  
• Proven leadership experience leading teams, committees, or working groups.
  
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  
• Ability to effectively monitor progress, resolve issues, and communicate with stakeholders.
  
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in fast-paced environments.
  
• Team-oriented approach with strong collaboration skills.
  

Desirable Skills

• Experience using information retrieval packages.
  
• Knowledge of Information Management principles, concepts, policies, and practices.
  
• Ability to translate business and data requirements into technical specifications.
  
• Experience with business functional modeling, business event modeling, and business process mapping.
  
• Experience with structured, object-oriented, and Agile methodologies.
  
• Experience developing performance measures for business analysis evaluations.
  
• Knowledge of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and applicable standards.
