About the opportunity 

As the Business Analyst (Quality), you will join the Service Improvements team within the central Research Portfolio. The team exists to deliver system and process improvements to reduce administrative burdens for researchers, faculty research support teams and research portfolio specialist teams, such as Pre-Award, Post-Award and Clinical Trials. 

Working with members of the Research Support Services Improvement team and colleagues in information technology, you will deliver a range of continuous improvement initiatives. This includes converting offline processes to digital forms and workflows and implementing digital and AI-enabled solutions, including a University-wide research support chatbot, to streamline workflows, improve access to information, and enhance the staff experience across the research lifecycle. 

The team is passionate about improving researcher experience throughout the central research support lifecycle, to ultimately free up researchers to tackle the world’s greatest challenges. 

Reporting to the Project Manager - Research Support Services Improvements, your key responsibilities will be to: 

  • establish effective working relationships with stakeholders, both research portfolio and faculty colleagues   

  • identify business and technical requirements to develop user friendly solutions and operational reports 

  • embrace and leverage emerging technologies, including AI, to enhance staff experience and support continuous improvement in research service delivery 

  • write user stories and acceptance criteria for internal and external developers/solution consultants for various technologies, including ServiceNow, DocuSign and AI-enabled chatbots 

  • test solutions and coordinate user acceptance testing 

  • conduct training sessions with business users 

  • draft knowledge articles.

  • experience in process mapping or customer journey mapping 

  • proven experience in identifying and documenting form and workflow requirements across a variety of functions and business units 

  • experience working in an agile team responsible for configuring/enhancing an enterprise platform 

  • ability to conduct data trend analysis, identify solutions and make recommendations 

  • strong analytical, organisational, decision making and presentation skills 

  • outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills 

  • excellent time and workload management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and achieve required outcomes 

  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
