Full Stack Developer - Node.js & React

Sangoma is looking for a Full Stack Developer with 3–5 years of experience to support, enhance, and maintain business-critical web applications supporting our global communications platform. You’ll work across the frontend and backend to build new features, troubleshoot production issues, improve performance, and help ensure our applications remain reliable, scalable, and maintainable.
You’ll work as part of an Agile engineering team, collaborating with Product, QA, and fellow developers to deliver high-quality software and continuously improve the customer experience.
What You’ll Do- Develop, enhance, and maintain web applications using Node.js, TypeScript, and React.
- Design, build, and support REST APIs and backend services.
- Develop and optimize MySQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects.
- Build and maintain asynchronous processing using Redis and BullMQ.
- Develop real-time application functionality using WebSockets.
- Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
- Improve application performance, reliability, and maintainability through ongoing code improvements.
- Deploy and support applications running in Docker and Kubernetes environments.
- Write and maintain automated tests and participate in code reviews.
- Follow secure software development and API security practices.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with Product, QA, and Engineering teams.
Requirements
What You’ll Bring
- 3–5 years of hands-on full-stack software development experience.
- Strong experience with Node.js, TypeScript, React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
- Strong working knowledge of MySQL, database design, and query optimization.
- Experience with Redis and BullMQ or similar background-processing technologies.
- Experience with WebSockets or other real-time application technologies.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, and CI/CD practices.
- Experience writing automated software tests.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with globally distributed teams.
- Able to go into the office.
Preferred
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Exposure to microservices architecture.
- Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging technologies.
- Experience with application monitoring and observability tools.
- Experience in SaaS, telecommunications, UCaaS, CCaaS, or other high-availability applications.

Skills Required
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or related role
- Strong requirements elicitation, documentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and process documentation
- Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience working with Jira, Confluence, or similar collaboration tools
- Experience within telecommunications, networking (e.g., UCaaS, CCaaS, SD-WAN)
- Understanding of network operations concepts (monitoring, incident management, service assurance, topology, inventory, fault management)
- Technical aptitude with APIs, integrations, databases, cloud platforms, or software delivery processes
