Sabot Consulting seeks a Business Analyst Consultant to lead requirements gathering for a new data analytics and dashboard solution, leveraging Microsoft Fabric as the primary platform. This role supports post-ERP migration (PeopleSoft to Workday) and focuses on Power BI dashboard development, requirements documentation, and stakeholder engagement within a higher education setting.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct interviews and workshops with Institutional Research, IT, Finance, HR, Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, and other departments to gather business needs and data requirements.
- Facilitate review and approval of requirements documentation with the project team.
- Assess the current data landscape post-ERP migration, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Define requirements for a Microsoft Fabric-based system, including data sources, integration needs, security (Microsoft Sentinel/Defender), and governance (Microsoft Purview).
- Develop requirements for Power BI dashboards, including KPIs, user roles, data refresh schedules, and UX preferences.
- Document all findings in a comprehensive Requirements Specification Document.
- Develop and manage a timeline for requirements gathering and deliverables.
- Ensure availability and capacity to meet project milestones.
Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in higher education environments.
- Proven track record in requirements gathering for Microsoft Fabric data infrastructure projects.
- Experience supporting organizations post-ERP migration, especially within Workday and PeopleSoft.
- Strong background in Power BI dashboard development, including scope and outcomes.
- Familiarity with data governance and security best practices (Microsoft Purview, Sentinel/Defender).
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and requirements elicitation methodology.
- Proficiency in documentation, validation, and communication tools and techniques.
- Master’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field
- Experience with data warehouse integration and reporting in higher education.
- Ability to align business needs with technical specifications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience with licensing analysis for enterprise data platforms.
