Job Description

About the Role:

The Business Analyst, Investment Compliance sits within the Global Investment Compliance Change team and supports delivery of change initiatives across the Investment Compliance (IC) function. Investment Compliance at Invesco interprets investment restrictions from regulations and client investment management agreements, implements these as controls in systems, and monitors them pre and post trade to ensure compliance over time. The team works closely with investment teams to support compliant portfolio management.

The role focuses on understanding business problems, analysing data and processes, and contributing to practical, structured solutions that improve how Investment Compliance operates, including its tools, workflows, and controls. You will work across global teams (IC, technology, data, and operations) to support delivery of change initiatives and help ensure the IC function operates in a consistent and scalable way.

Responsibilities of the Role:

    Stakeholder Partnership and Delivery

    • Work with teams across IC, data, technology, and operations to support delivery of change initiatives 

    • Contribute to defined deliverables, ensure that work is completed accurately and to agreed timelines 

    • Support coordination across global teams to track progress, raise issues, and help move work forward

    Problem Solving and Analysis

    • Break down business problems into structured components and support development of practical solutions 

    • Analyze data and process flows to identify issues, risks, and improvement opportunities 

    • Support root cause analysis and ensure findings are clearly documented

    Data Analysis and Insight Generation

    • Work with datasets, such as trades, holdings, restrictions, breaches, or similar operational data, to identify trends and issues 

    • Use tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI, or AI-enabled productivity tools to support analysis and insight generation 

    • Link analysis to business outcomes, operational effectiveness, and potential control impacts 

    Communication and Documentation

    • Communicate findings, issues, and recommendations in a clear and structured way 

    • Produce well organized documentation to support requirements, analysis, testing, and delivery 

    • Contribute presentations, updates, and supporting materials for stakeholders

    Requirements and Change Delivery

    • Support gathering, documentation, and validation of business requirements 

    • Assist with traceability of requirements and outputs with stakeholders and project teams 

    • Contribute to testing activities, including UAT support, test case preparation, validation, and issue tracking 

    Process Improvement and Change Support

    • Identify opportunities to improve processes, workflows, and ways of working 

    • Support implementation of improvements through structured change activity 

    • Contribute to tool, reporting, and process enhancements across the IC function 

    Tools, Automation and AI Adoption 

    • Support enhancements to dashboards, reporting, knowledge management, and workflow tools used by the IC function 

    • Use AI tools responsibly to improve efficiency in analysis, documentation, and repetitive tasks, with appropriate review and governance 

    • Help identify opportunities for automation and better use of data across the team

    Requirements of the Role:

    • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience in a related field

    • Demonstrable ability to analyze problems, structure thinking, and contribute to practical solutions, gained through academic work, internships, apprenticeships, part time roles, or early career experience 

    • Familiarity with tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI, Python, or similar, or the ability to learn quickly and use AI tools to support analysis and documentation 

    • Experience contributing to projects, structured deliverables, or team-based outcomes 

    • Exposure to testing activities, validating outputs, or understanding of structured testing approaches 

    • Evidence of curiosity, a growth mindset, and self-directed learning, including learning new tools, skills, or concepts and applying them in practice to improve outcomes 

    • Exposure to financial services, asset management, compliance, or order management systems (preferred)

     

    The salary range for this position in New York is $75,000 - $105,000/year. The total compensation offered for this position includes salary and incentive pay and will vary based on skills, experience and location.
