Job Description
Our software business systems are built to provide efficiency and functionality to our branch offices and warehouses, allowing Expeditors to provide outstanding customer service and competitive rates. Our internal and external systems are an integrated suite of collaborative supply chain software applications that are designed to assist our operations teams and customers in managing international and domestic shipping challenges.
The document management team focuses on building and sustaining the digital creation, storage, and movement of documents related to shipments, supply chain, customs, and accounting.
Job Description
You will be part of an Agile Team that strives to ensure our systems support our users, and ultimately shareholders, by providing the value they need most. You will have a direct role in driving a shared understanding of business goals and objectives between Business and IS, to deliver quality systems that meet business needs. By employing a variety of business, process, data, and system analysis techniques, the Business Analyst aligns stakeholders, reduces ambiguity and risk, and defines solutions that meet defined goals and objectives. The successful Business Analyst on the Document Management team is passionate about making sure the team is adding the most value possible for its stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Product Manager, architects and program stakeholders in building and prioritizing team backlog.
- Elicit and analyze functional and non-functional requirements. Craft meaningful requirements and specifications that align stakeholder needs to system capabilities.
- Create clearly defined user stories.
- Lead requirements discussions, specification reviews, and backlog grooming sessions to achieve shared understanding.
- Collaborate to design high-value and sensible IS solutions, making sure both functional and non-functional requirements are addressed in the design and the test plans.
- Help the team meet its objectives by assisting with other aspects of the development process where possible.
- Proactively and continuously improve business and system knowledge and improve processes.
This position is on-site and will reside in the greater Seattle, WA. area at one of the following locations depending on availability. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in Computer Science or a closely related field of study (such as Management Information Systems).
- 5+ years of business, process, data, and/or systems analysis experience in software development.
- Aptitude for business analysis demonstrated through applied skills and knowledge.
- Proficiency with the system development lifecycle, including agile techniques.
- Effective at navigating ambiguity and driving diverse teams towards clarity and consensus.
- Effective at eliciting, analyzing, and crafting meaningful stakeholder requirements and specifications.
- Effective at researching and resolving issues.
- Ability to simplify complex business and technical needs.
- Ability to clearly communicate details and concepts to a broad range of audiences.
- Ability to compose concepts, ideas, and designs into actionable, measurable deliverables.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, as well as verbal and written communication skills.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Broad knowledge of database structures, data relationships, and data modeling.
- Working knowledge of the Unified Modeling Language (UML) with the ability to effectively communicate business requirements through Business Object Models, State Diagrams, and other UML diagrams.
- Demonstrated leadership.
- SAFe familiarity and/or certification.
- Experience working in a logistics business domain.

Additional Information
Expected base salary: $100,000 to 145,000
