DESCRIPTION:
As a Business Analyst II at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll contribute to bridging business needs with technology solutions to advance our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze processes, gather requirements, and implement innovative solutions that drive operational efficiency. Working in an agile environment, you'll help define and document business requirements, create user stories, facilitate workshops, and ensure successful project delivery. This role offers opportunities to work with advanced technologies while making meaningful contributions to critical business initiatives.
- Gather requirements from stakeholders and business users to create different deliverables such as Business Requirement Document (BRDs), Functional Requirement Document (FRDs), System Requirement Specification Document (SRS) by conducting working sessions and workshops
- Act as liaison between the business and the technology team to implement software upgrades, document business use cases, conduct user acceptance testing, and design future enhancements
- Design system solutions that meet business requirements and align with IT architecture standards
- Develop detailed design documents, including data models, process flows, and system interfaces
- Partner with system analysts and architects on technical design and coordinate development work with vendors as well as internal development teams
Support & Maintenance
- Delivery and support of incident/break/fix and provide production support as needed
- Offer continuous support for deployed systems, including identifying problems and devising practical solutions
- Conduct testing which includes Functional, Regression, User Acceptance and Integration testing to verify the business needs are met
- Create complex database queries using SQL querying language, Stored Procedures in MS SQL Server Management Studio, Oracle PL/SQL and maintaining the database SQL scripts for future use of test data and retesting of defects
- Monitor system performance and conduct regular maintenance to ensure efficient operation.
- Conduct training sessions for end-users and technical staff on new systems and improvements
- Develop training materials, documentation and user guides to facilitate knowledge transfer with team members
- Lead efforts to detail requirements, build functional and technical designs, and document validation and test cases
- Coordinate with project managers, business analysts, and technical teams to ensure successful deployment of the template
- Support during the testing, training, and implementation phases
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 1–2 years of experience, OR 3–5 years of experience without a Degree. Recent graduates with strong aptitude and a demonstrated eagerness to learn are also encouraged to apply.
- 1-2 years of experience with Oracle PL/SQL, MS SQL Server Management Studio including stored procedures/trigger development.
- 1-2 years of experience with technologies and processing environments used to support the Pick, Pack, Ship (PPS) process, such as Warehouse Mgmt, Transportation Mgmt, and Order Mgmt systems; experience with QAD Precision/Trax is also preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience working with Integration technologies and systems, such as XML, webMethods, or Oracle Fusion Middleware (OFM).
- 1-2 years of experience with reporting tools, such as IBM Cognos, Power BI
- 1-2 years of experience working with and supporting machine automation systems, such as conveyors, print and apply applicators, in-line weigh scales, and case sealers
- 1-2 years of experience primarily involves on-site and remote troubleshooting, repair, installation, and maintenance of a variety of physical IT equipment - like HP Printers, Zebra Handheld Scanners and Printers, Network Switch /AP Wifi knowledge, etc
- Excellent requirements gathering and documentation capabilities
- Strong communication and facilitation skills for leading workshops and stakeholder meetings
- Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
- Experience creating user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria
- Proficiency in conducting user acceptance testing (UAT)

- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Travel may be required (0-25%)
Skills Required
- Master's degree in Technology Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field and 2 years of experience as Business Analyst
- Bachelor's degree in Technology Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field and 5 years of experience as Business Analyst
