Job DescriptionRESPEC is seeing a Business Analyst II, int his role you will partner with project, development, and quality assurance teams with the Texas DPS to turn business needs into clear, actionable Agile requirements. You will help define themes, epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and effort estimates that enable effective planning and delivery.
This role is ideal for a technically minded business analyst who can analyze existing documentation, identify opportunities to improve operational effectiveness, and communicate requirements clearly across technical and business stakeholders.
Core Responsibilities:
You will facilitate requirements discussions and translate business needs into agency-standard themes, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria. The role includes converting existing use cases into actionable Jira stories and supporting project and development teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
You will review existing process documentation, identify potential efficiency and effectiveness improvements, and document recommendations. You will also facilitate story-point discussions with development and QA teams to support predictive level-of-effort planning, while contributing to initiatives that strengthen service delivery and statutory compliance.
QualificationsRequired Technical Experience:
- 4+ years of experience as a senior-level Business Analyst in a technical, software development, emerging technology, or closely related environment.
- 4+ years of experience working with Agile project management methodologies and practices.
Candidates should be comfortable gathering and analyzing requirements, partnering with cross-functional delivery teams, and communicating complex needs in a clear, structured format.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ year of experience understanding and documenting use cases.
- 1+ year of experience with process documentation and process mapping.
- Experience creating and managing themes, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Experience converting use cases into actionable Agile requirements within Jira.
- Experience facilitating story-point estimation or supporting effort-estimation models.
- Strong stakeholder facilitation, requirements analysis, and documentation skills.
