Our Canadian operation, Canaccord Genuity Corp., is seeking a senior Business Analyst / Developer resource for a 4–6-month contract to assist with the definition and implementation of a vendor management process for Canaccord.
Responsibilities:
- Define and document end-to-end vendor management processes, including onboarding, contract storage, renewals, amendments, and termination
- Act as a senior delivery lead, translating business requirements into executable technical and analytical solutions.
- Design and implement invoice management and allocation processes, covering intake, approval workflows, reconciliation, and auditability
- Establish clear linkages between vendors, contracts, invoices, cost centers, and CG legal entities to support accurate financial reporting and governance
- Partner with Finance to ensure contract and invoice processes align with internal control requirements
- Define the logical and physical data model required to support vendor, contract, invoice, and allocation reporting
- Ensure the data model supports both structured analytics (dashboards, KPIs) and AI-driven query and reasoning
- Specify authoritative data sources and integration points (e.g., finance/AP systems, contract repositories, etc.).
- Design and deliver executive-level dashboards providing clear visibility into vendor spend, trends, risks, renewals, and exceptions.
- Define KPIs and metrics aligned to senior leadership and governance expectations.
- Design and deploy AI-enabled, conversational BI capabilities that allow users to ask natural-language questions of vendor and financial data. For example, “what changed,” “compare to previous invoice,” and “what requires attention,”
- Develop user-facing interfaces to support vendor, contract, and invoice processing activities.
- Provide clear documentation, status updates, and risk/issue visibility throughout the engagement.
Skills & Qualifications:
- 8+ years in business analysis, data engineering, BI development, or solution design, ideally in financial services or a regulated environment
- Strong experience designing vendor management, contract management, or invoice/expense management processes
- Practical experience with AI-enabled analytics or conversational BI, including natural-language querying over enterprise data
- Proven ability to define and implement data models supporting financial and management reporting
- Advanced SQL skills (complex queries, transformations, performance tuning).
- Strong Power BI experience (data modeling, DAX, dataset design).
- Experience integrating third-party systems via API or scheduled batch processes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
