The Business Analyst for Worldwide Patient Safety will be responsible for comprehensive analysis of business requirements, captured in user stories, while closely collaborating with developers to create functional applications that aid BMS in meeting regulatory standards. The candidate is expected to possess in-depth knowledge of the Safety domain and be adept with Agile methodology. Having profound Safety domain expertise in the Pharmaceutical IT industry is essential. The incumbent will work hand in hand with Drug Development Business and IT colleagues in Hyderabad and globally as part of global IT product teams. This position demands effective teamwork, collaboration, and communication across IT and business stakeholders, fostering a culture of learning and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements, ensuring comprehension and clarity.
  • Translate business needs into functional specifications or user stories to guide the development of software or system solutions.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements related to Patient Safety, identify trends, and support decision-making processes.
  • Identify inefficiencies in workflows or systems and propose solutions to optimize business processes.
  • Create detailed documentation of requirements, workflows, and outcomes. Manage user acceptance testing, training, and change management associated with application rollout.
  • Prepare Functional User Manuals for end-users.
  • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure seamless communication and understanding of project objectives.
  • Provide functional guidance to developers, testers, and other stakeholders to ensure technology solutions are correctly implemented and effectively maintained throughout their lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with development teams to validate developed solutions, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
  • Monitor implemented solutions, gather feedback and recommend enhancements to align with evolving business needs.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in healthcare or a related field.
  • At least 7+ years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
  • 7+ years in a business analyst role delivering and supporting IT applications with a large global scope.
  • Understanding of SDLC methodologies, Agile, and Waterfall, ideally within a regulated environment.
  • Extensive experience in software management with an emphasis on adherence to timelines.
  • Functional knowledge or prior experience in Lifesciences Research and Development domain.
  • Possess an attitude of continuous learning (technology, domain, and soft skills) and share knowledge cohesively among teams and others.
  • Strong customer-centric skills alongside advanced abilities to engage with business functions, manage stakeholders, and coordinate activities in a large, global, matrix organization.
  • Communicates clearly – excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Experience managing vendor and partner delivery with a focus on outcomes.
  • Ability to build resilient teams with a positive attitude.

BMS has an occupancy structure that determines where an employee is required to conduct their work. This structure includes site-essential, site-by-design, field-based and remote-by-design jobs. The occupancy type that you are assigned is determined by the nature and responsibilities of your role:

Site-essential roles require 100% of shifts onsite at your assigned facility. Site-by-design roles may be eligible for a hybrid work model with at least 50% onsite at your assigned facility.
