What you'll do:As a Business Affairs Manager your key area of responsibility will be supporting the sales and business development teams on the drafting, negotiation, and execution of various revenue impacting contracts, including identifying risks and gaps based on standard operating procedures and solution offerings. You will need to work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners.
To be successful in this role you will be a strong team-player with an entrepreneurial mindset who is comfortable in a flat organization, acts with high accuracy, and possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills. In addition, the successful candidate will have strong organizational and project management skills, with an ability to read and review contract agreements appropriately, assess potential risks, and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously to meet deadlines.
How you'll make an impact:- Document business principles for an opportunity and facilitate the movement of the opportunity through the contracting process.
- Draft a variety of different types of contract agreements, amendments and notices.
- Review and validate documents/contracts to ensure that all parties involved in the agreement are accepting of the terms presented in the document/contract.
- Collaborate with Legal teams for contractual support.
- Support ongoing continuous improvement initiatives and highlight or pre-empt areas of weakness or action that are needed to alleviate future roadblocks.
- Manage and participate in projects related to the management and compliance activities relating to revenue impacting contracts.
- Provide document status reports detailing expected delivery time-frames and key challenges.
- Read and review contract agreements appropriately and assess potential risks.
- Responsible for contribution to the departmental Wiki and Need to Know updates.
- Leverage a variety of AI tools to fulfill job duties.
- Responsiveness outside core hours may be needed during critical periods.
- 5-8 years of experience in contract drafting, negotiation and management.
- A strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to collaborate as well as work independently.
- Organizational and Project Management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lead meetings, projects.
- High accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
- Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
- Experience with CRM and other tools (e.g. Salesforce, JIRA, Lucid Charts, SpotDraft).
- Extensive experience using AI tools to complete tasks, create efficiencies, develop workflows and other skills.
- Ability to read and review contract agreements appropriately and assess risk.
- Experience in sales and or sales support would be considered an asset.
- Experience working within a technical or engineering organization/knowledge of the high-technology industry is an asset.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, while meeting deadlines.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable in a flat organization.
- Ability to travel. A passport is required.
