Job SummaryThe Business Advisor (BA) supports the needs of business members at the credit union. As an industry expert in the banking needs of small businesses, the BA deepens relationships with business members through diagnostic conversations, either virtually or over the phone. This role involves assessing needs, offering advice, and assisting members with MACU products and services. The primary responsibility is to field business product referrals from branches and assist members promptly and professionally. This position is part of the Business Services department and reports to a Business Services Regional Manager.

Job Description

To be effective, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty successfully:

  • Act as a reliable advisor to business members.
  • Be fluent in our Treasury Management suite of products and their benefits to members.
  • Consult with members proactively and reactively about available financial tools and services.
  • Partner with various front-line departments to better serve members.
  • Manage incoming branch referrals.
  • Mine portfolio (within assigned segment) and make outbound contact to expand relationships and implement additional products.
  • Effectively manage a pipeline of sales opportunities from start to finish.
  • Accurately complete documentation needed to onboard products and services for members.
  • Navigate through basic and complex sales cycles of new and existing opportunities.
  • Prospect for new qualified businesses within the market.
  • Be resourceful and strategic on more complex setups.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Complete high-quality applications in a timely and professional manner.
  • Display collaborative behavior with internal and external partners, resulting in new business opportunities and an overall better member experience.
  • Convey a strong value proposition to branch teams and partners.
  • Represent MACU core values.

Experience

  • 2+ years of sales experience.
  • 1+ years of inside sales experience preferred.
  • Basic banking acumen preferred.

Education

Associates’ degree in business, marketing, finance, or related field preferred.  OR 2+ years combined with experience in sales or relationship management.
