ABOUT THE ROLE
Responsible for safely driving buses as required for Shakedown testing or delivery of local buses around the SF Bay area within 100-mile radius, starting point of Livermore, CA. Occasionally responsible for driving chase cars as needed after local deliveries to pick up fellow drivers. The ideal candidate would desire a regular schedule, enjoy the variety of driving assignments, and be proud to be an integral part of GILLIG’s dynamic team.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:
- Operating buses safely and efficiently along designated routes
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving
- EV Bus Shakedown Testing
- Shuttling buses around GILLIG yard
- Deliver buses to local customer locations
- Report any bus malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisor
- Keep record of routes and mileage
- Conduct pre trip and post trip inspections of the buses
- Performs other related duties, as required
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess a valid commercial driver’s license (CLASS A or B) with passenger endorsement
- Clean driving record with no accidents or violations
- Familiarity with local routes and traffic patterns a plus
- Reliable and on-time with neat, professional appearance and manner
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Prior experience as a bus driver preferred
- In compliance with FMCSA regulations, drivers will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing through a third-party consortium
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally kneel or squat
- Standard start time: 6:00 a.m.
EXPECTED COMPENSATION
Hourly Rate: $30 - $35 + premium benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job classification, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
