Role Summary:

The Bullion Sales & Operations Director oversees Singapore’s bullion business, encompassing physical gold trading, gold-backed lending, and client gold funding activities. This role is responsible for obtaining and maintaining the company’s required registration and licence as a Regulated Dealer under the Precious Stones and Precious Metals (Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing) Act 2019 (PSPM Act).

The Director ensures full compliance with licensing conditions, while driving commercial growth, operational excellence, and secure delivery logistics across all gold trading and custody operations.

Licensing, Compliance & Regulatory Management

• Serve as Designated Officer and Licence Holder under the PSPM Act (MinLaw).
• Lead the company’s regulatory obligations, including AML/CFT framework, suspicious transaction reporting (STRs), and periodic compliance filings.
• Coordinate with Ministry of Law, MAS, and internal compliance teams for inspections, renewals, and ongoing audits.
• Maintain governance for both bullion operations and any related MAS licensing projects.

Bullion Sales, Trading & Market Development

• Drive physical gold and bullion trading across retail, institutional, and wholesale clients.
• Manage pricing strategy and spread optimization across client channels and trading platforms.
• Expand regional bullion client base — including banks, brokers, crypto platforms, and commodity firms — leveraging strong APAC market networks.
• Cross-sell bullion, FX, and structured products, promoting multi-asset integration for clients.
• Design and execute complex gold structures, including collateralised lending, swaps, and cross-guarantee facilities.

Operations, Trade Lifecycle & Risk Control

• Manage end-to-end trade operations, from order execution to final delivery and settlement.
• Oversee reconciliations between vault inventories, client ledgers, and trade systems daily.
• Ensure seamless integration between front-office trading and back-office operations.
• Implement strong risk management and operational control to minimize trade discrepancies.

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead and mentor a cross-functional team covering sales and operations
• Coach junior traders on bullion market operations, client engagement, and risk protocols.
• Foster collaboration between sales, technology, and compliance units to improve efficiency.
• Promote a culture of regulatory responsibility and client service excellence.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related discipline; CFA preferred.
• Minimum 10–15 years of experience in bullion, FX, or commodity trading, including leadership roles.
• Proven record of building and growing APAC client bases and cross-asset sales.
• Hands-on experience in trade lifecycle management, operations, and process automation.
• Deep understanding of Singapore’s PSPM Act, AML/CFT obligations, and MAS compliance standards.
• Proficiency in trading systems
• Bilingual in English and other Asian languages advantageous.
