Budget Operations Manager, Global Marketing
This role has been designed as ‘Hybrid’ with an expectation that you will work on average 2-3 days per week from an HPE office.

Job Description:
Responsible for driving marketing excellence and performance management efforts to provide operational processes, marketing policies, measurement, analytical model and actionable plan to maximize the return on marketing investment.
May also provide database analytics and operational expertise to drive fact-based strategic and tactical planning, manage and execute marketing programs. Typical responsibilities include managing the marketing investment envelope, identifying business requirements, developing business marketing processes, managing complex marketing programs and campaigns, establishing executive dashboards, scorecard, other measurement tools, and developing infrastructure (such as MRM, CRM, EDW and other data warehouse) as needed to drive close loop marketing. Also responsible for developing and delivering marketing training and professional development and execution to maximize overall marketing productivity and effectiveness.

Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. Leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Acts as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies. Frequently represents the organization to external customers/clients. Exercises significant independent judgment to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. May provide mentoring and guidance to lower level employees.
Be the planning and operations supporting the 4 Compute Product marketing teams – Core Compute, HPC team, AI team and the SMB team.
Execution
- Work with marketing teams to have a plan prior to entering quarter
- Weekly/Bi weekly interlock with marketers to ensure teams execute programs in a timely manner
- Identify risks with execution (both program and MDF) and ensure a Up-to-date forecast reflecting latest status
- Review budget and execution status with team leaders and solve issues
- Manage MDF budget sand ensure teams claim on time.
- Help open PO’s for teams
- Vendor onboarding and vendor data change management
- Triage invoice and PO issues
- Give guidance to teams on expense recognition, expense tools (Ariba, Meeting Cards, PCards)
- Work with teams to get invoices or other backups needed for accruals and cross charges
- Work with finance and teams to close quarter
Analytics
- Based on appropriate analysis of marketing information, provide value-added business performance analytics and optimization recommendations that enable continuous improvement across the Marketing organization to drive incremental demand generation or improve marketing productivity.
- Research and evaluate opportunity to apply common methods and frameworks across analytic projects to allow for reuse of modeling and more efficient solutions to marketing needs.
- Recommend go-to-market actions based on analytical findings to senior leaders.
- Work with business marketing teams to develop comprehensive understanding of marketing investment opportunities/trade-offs and translate that understanding into detailed requirements.
Refine tools and processes
- Manage internal and external resources to ensure that campaigns are executed accurately, effectively and within budget.
- Implement marketing process and tools such as MRM, CRM CKM to drive performance management/productivity.
About you:
- BA or BS in Finance, or management
- 7+ years marketing and project management or operational experience.
- Experience in supporting teams for planning and operations.
- Expert knowledge of expense management, practices, tactics and tools.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting and practices and procedures.
- In-depth knowledge of and/or experience in project management.
- Excellent written/oral communications and analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and project management skills; ability to build and manage virtual teams.
- Ability to interface effectively with management team and functional disciplines.
- Excellent influencing and consensus-building skills.
- Excellent execution skills.
Impact/Scope:
- Initiate/drive/execute complex cross-functional and cross- region marketing plan, program and/or campaigns.
- Lead cross-region data-driven analyses and actionable planning; typical within particular region/countries.
- Recommend marketing investment to strategic programs to optimize marketing ROI
- Lead development of predictive marketing mix model.
Complexity:
- High – Frequent senior management, partner and/or customer interface; frequent cross-functional/cross- organizational interaction on strategic and tactical issues.
