KMRG, LLC (KMRG) is a federal services company that hires talented professionals to support Government agencies and the communities they serve. We are hiring a Budget Analyst to support the United States Capitol Police (USCP), Office of Information Systems (OIS), Information Resources Management Division (IRMD). In this role, you will support federal budget management and execution, prepare and track financial information, validate invoices, assist with procurement and contract closeout activities, and help OIS maintain accurate, decision-ready financial data.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Budget Management & Execution
  • Support financial management and federal budget execution activities for OIS and IRMD
  • Assist with budget preparation and formulation activities using accurate supporting financial data
  • Track budget status, obligations, expenditures, and other financial information as assigned
  • Maintain financial records and supporting documentation needed for recurring budget and management reviews
  • Help identify budget variances, funding issues, and other financial discrepancies requiring follow-up
  • Support managers and program staff with timely financial information for planning and resource decisions
Procurement, Payments & Reconciliation
  • Assist with procurement requests and supporting financial documentation
  • Validate invoices for accuracy and coordinate follow-up on discrepancies or missing information
  • Support payment processing and financial reconciliations in accordance with established procedures
  • Assist with contract closeout activities and the reconciliation of remaining financial actions
  • Respond to routine financial inquiries and coordinate with managers, program teams, and appropriate Government personnel
Financial Analysis & Reporting
  • Analyze financial data to identify issues, trends, variances, and items requiring management attention
  • Prepare clear financial summaries, status updates, and supporting analysis for Government review
  • Maintain accurate budget and financial tracking information and verify data before reporting
  • Support recurring cost-status and burn-rate reporting using current invoice and budget information
  • Use Excel and other approved tools to organize, analyze, and present financial information
Coordination & Financial Compliance
  • Coordinate with OIS managers and teams to maintain accurate financial data and resolve routine financial questions
  • Follow established federal and USCP financial-management processes and documentation requirements
  • Maintain organized financial records and provide accurate, timely support for assigned financial-management activities

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • At least 3 years of federal budget management and execution experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing financial data and supporting budget, invoice, reconciliation, or related financial-management activities

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES & SKILLS
  • Ability to analyze financial data, identify issues, and recommend practical solutions
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis, reconciliation, and reporting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for responding to financial inquiries and supporting Government stakeholders
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other standard Microsoft Office applications used for financial tracking and reporting
  • Ability to organize financial information, manage multiple priorities, and maintain complete supporting documentation

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Federal financial certification or comparable financial-management credential
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting
  • Knowledge of Agile practices in a business or financial-support environment
  • Experience with statistical or data-visualization tools such as Tableau

LOCATION
  • United States Capitol Police (USCP), Southwest Washington, DC, 20003

TELEWORK
  • Full-time onsite for the first two months; afterward, positions are generally onsite at least 2 days per week with up to 3 telework days per week, subject to USCP approval and operational needs. USCP may increase or cancel telework temporarily or permanently.

SECURITY / ACCESS
  • Ability to successfully complete a USCP criminal history check and fingerprinting before performing onsite work
  • Ability to qualify for and maintain a USCP identification/access badge for onsite duties
  • Ability to complete USCP building access forms and other required onboarding/access processing
  • Ability to protect sensitive and proprietary USCP information and comply with applicable confidentiality requirements
