We are seeking an entry to mid-level Broadcast Engineer to support the technical operations of our broadcast facility. This role is ideal for a motivated individual with a blend of IT and broadcast experience who is eager to grow in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment. The IT/Broadcast Engineer will assist with maintaining and troubleshooting studio equipment, supporting live broadcasts, and ensuring seamless content delivery across multiple platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing all technical aspects of the broadcast facility, including studios, post-production systems, field production support, and live/taped event transmission.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with broadcast and IT equipment, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on studio and control room equipment, including replacing components and managing supplies.
- Monitor and ensure proper operation of transmission equipment before and during live broadcasts, quickly addressing any issues.
- Document system performance, equipment issues, and corrective actions taken.
- Support system upgrades and installations under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Work closely with IT and engineering teams to ensure smooth integration of new technology and infrastructure.
- Maintain compliance with industry regulations and internal documentation procedures.
- Provide occasional on-call support for emergencies, breaking news events, and system updates.
- Assist with basic facility maintenance related to technical operations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Degree in Electronics Technology, IT, Broadcast Engineering, or a related field preferred (or equivalent hands-on experience).
- Basic knowledge of video and audio systems, IT networks, and signal flow in a broadcast environment.
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems, IP networking, and routing.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift and install control room equipment (25-50 lbs) with assistance.
- Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts when needed.
