Bridgwater HSE Manager

Job Objectives/Initiatives at Assigned Site:

·         Responsible for the development, implementation, training, and maintenance of site policies, programs and procedures to reduce team member injury, minimize company exposure and ensure compliance with corporate HSE management system and all applicable HSE regulations (OSHA; EPA; DOT; etc.).

·         Ensures compliance with all environmental permits, regulations, and reporting requirements for assigned facility.

·         Ensures ongoing Compliance with all aspects of Hazardous Waste EPA Regulations (SQG).

·         Drives programs involving team member engagement and behavior-based safety processes (Consequence Thinking – Zero & Beyond).

·         Responsible for maintaining certification to ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 Standards.

·         Proactively provides hands-on support in areas such as: Health, Safety and Environmental Procedure implementation (Corporate and site specific), behavioral safety processes, corporate safety mandates, and interpretation of applicable regulatory regulations.

·         Drives an incident reporting process that ensures effective investigation, reporting, corrective actions, and best practice sharing throughout their business unit and corporate.

·         Conducts and assists with internal and external HSE audits and meets with regulatory agencies during facility inspections/audits as required.

·         Partners with Facility leadership to participate in key HSE team meetings, Kaizen/Gemba events, and other key meetings where HSE representation is requested.

·         Participates in other key HSE initiatives assigned by NA HSE Department or Facility Leader.

Job Objectives/Initiatives for Regional Training Specialist Role:

• Responsible for development, implementation, and maintenance of standardized HSE training material and processes for region.
• Acts as a support resource for sites in the development and review of site specific HSE training needs analysis.
• Standardizes/develops region HSE procedures as deemed applicable to align with training.
• Partners with sites and HR counterparts on development and use of online learning management systems (Dozuki, Workday, etc.).
• Participates in other key HSE initiatives assigned by NA HSE Regional Manager or NA VP of HSE.

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental, engineering, or other related field.
• Direct experience and time in HSE role may be used as a substitute for Degree.

Qualifications/Experience

• 3-5 plus years of direct experience with OSHA compliance, behavior-based safety, root cause evaluation, incident management, standards and procedural development, auditing, and training.
• Demonstrated passion for safety and environmental excellence.
• Knowledge of worker’s compensation regulations.
• Experience with Environmental permit compliance and Hazardous Waste management.
• Experience in development and implementation of Training Material and processes.
• Knowledge of ISO Management Systems (ISO14001:2015 & 45001:2018) a plus.
• Experience with manufacturing site a plus.
• Strong organizational & planning skills.
• Excellent analytical skills & problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with technology such as excel, PowerPoint, Word and other standard computer applications.
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills (oral & written), able to interact with all levels in the organization.
• This is a site level role (not remote)
• Ability to travel periodically for meetings and participation in other site audits.
