Job Details:

SUMMARY:

The Breeder Tech Advisor I is dedicated to providing technical assistance to producers caring for the company's birds, ensuring their proper care and comfort. This role is crucial in maintaining high standards of bird health and farm operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Assistance:

    • Advise producers on building and equipment specifications.
    • Guide litter manipulation and farm sanitation practices.
    • Conduct farm visits to document bird comfort and manage flock and equipment settings.
  • Bird Management:

    • Direct feed and light schedules.
    • Monitor bird health, egg production, body weight, and conformation, providing remedies when possible.
    • Oversee feed consumption and ensure timely pulling of blood and fat samples.
  • Coordination and Communication:

    • Coordinate bird placements to farms and assist with catch schedules.
    • Ensure effective communication between hatchery, feed mill, vaccination crews, and live-haul regarding contract farms.
    • Ensure compliance with production contracts to produce high-quality, cost-effective flocks.
  • Regulatory Compliance:

    • Ensure all USDA and other government regulations are followed when handling poultry.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent is preferred.

Experience: 1 plus year of relevant experience.

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.

Travel: 1 to 5 trips per year.
