Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement transportation plans, manage carriers and oversee loading processes to ensure effective supplier management through final delivery.
- Drive continuous innovation and improvement in international (inbound) and domestic (outbound) logistics processes.
- Organize, track, and ensure efficient distribution of goods to GE end customers.
- Maintain relationships and negotiate with inbound freight agents and outbound transport providers.
- Achieve targets related to cost management, productivity, accuracy and on-time delivery.
- Track metrics, analyze data and implement operational improvements based on performance insights.
- Manage exceptional logistics situations, including express and urgent freight requests.
- Prepare accurate data and reports for quarterly financial closures, demonstrating strong financial acumen related to logistics budgeting, forecasting and cost analysis.
- Evaluate and control the service level provided by logistics operators.
- Initiate and lead projects focused on process optimization and cost-saving strategies.
- Apply Lean methodologies and continuous improvement practices proactively to eliminate waste and enhance operational efficiency.
- Utilize advanced Excel skills and Business Intelligence (BI) tools to analyze logistics data, develop comprehensive reports, and inform strategic decision-making.
- Proactively collaborate with various functional areas, such as OM, S&OP, HPM, EHS, finance and other internal stakeholders.
- Ensure strict compliance with company standards for EHS (Environment, Health, Safety), quality, compliance, and operational safety.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or high school diploma with substantial relevant logistics experience).
- Demonstrated technical expertise in inbound and outbound logistics operations.
- Proven experience in effectively serving internal customers.
- Demonstrable leadership and team management capabilities.
- Proven ability to build and sustain long-term relationships with key stakeholders and opinion leaders.
- Strong financial knowledge specific to logistics operations, including budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
