What we’re looking for

We’re looking for an experienced and visionary Brand Strategy Lead to shape the future of our brand, ensuring it resonates with target audiences and strengthens our market position. Reporting to the Senior Director of Brand Strategy, Content & Research, you will lead the development and execution of brand strategies that align with business goals and drive brand choice. The ideal candidate is a seasoned strategist with expertise in positioning, audience insights, and translating data-driven strategies into impactful marketing plans across channels.

What you’ll be working on

You will dedicate approximately 75% of its time to leading brand strategy and research, with the remaining 25% focused on people leadership. In this role, you will:

  • Define and implement a cohesive brand strategy that aligns with company objectives and positions us competitively in the market.
  • Conduct research and analyze industry trends, competitor positioning, and audience behaviors to inform brand messaging, positioning, and differentiation.
  • Perform quarterly creative audits to evaluate our brand and competitor performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead and oversee brand campaigns from concept to execution, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, audience insights, and brand standards.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and storytelling best practices, incorporating these insights into brand strategies and creative executions.
  • Monitor and analyze brand performance, using data-driven insights to optimize strategies and drive continuous improvement.
  • Present brand initiatives and updates to executive leadership and cross-functional partners, articulating insights and progress effectively.

We’d love to hear from people with

  • 9+ years of experience in brand strategy, brand management, or a related role, with a proven track record of developing and executing successful brand strategies.
  • Deep understanding of brand positioning, narrative development, and audience segmentation.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret insights and translate them into actionable brand strategies.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, including experience presenting to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in leveraging brand research, customer insights, and analytics tools to inform decision-making.
  • Strong project management capabilities, with a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive results.
  • Experience in translating brand strategies into actionable deliverables for creative teams.

SurveyMonkey believes in-person collaboration is valuable for building relationships, fostering community, and enhancing our speed and execution in problem-solving and decision-making. As such, you will be required to work from a SurveyMonkey office up to 1 day per week.
